In order to study the influence of interface bond condition between new and old cement concrete pavement on overlay performance, the three-dimensional finite element model of the airport double-layer pavement was established. The pavement overlay's load stress and deflection were analyzed, the coupling coefficient between new and old cement concrete pavement was calculated based on the bottom of overlay deflection basin shape factor. The results show that the coupling coefficient reflects the degrees of interface bond condition well. Poor interface bond condition increases the overlay's load stress and deflection. The points that more closely distance from the wheels load center, the bigger the pavement overlay's load stress and deflection is. Therefore, more attention should be paid to the interface bond condition during the airport pavement overlay's designs and constructions.
The evaluation of airport pavement service performance plays an important role in pavement maintenance, rehabilitation and overlay. A systematic pavement performance evaluation model was established using the Fuzzy Complex Matter Element and combination weights. Firstly, the indices for evaluation such as Pavement Condition Index, Friction Coefficient, roughness performance and Bearing Capability were chose to evaluat the airport pavement service performance. Secondly, the synthesis weight of each evaluation index was determined using Entropy Method and Analytic Hierarchy Process Method. Finally, the relevancy degree fuzzy complex matter element was determined, and the degree of the airport pavement service performance can be determined according to the largest relevancy degree principle. This evaluation method has a broader applicable scope, because it is not only capable in considering subjective factors based on experts and experience, but also capable in considering the precision of objective information from the actual measuring reasonably. Finally, three regions of an airport pavement are evaluated by this method, and the evaluation results agree well with the actual pavement condition.
Considering the hot mix asphalt compaction quality is difficult to reach and it can be destroyed easily, the warm mix asphalt is used for thin overlay of airport cement concrete pavement. The mixture proportion of warm mix asphalt was designed, the performance of the base asphalt and the modified emulsify asphalt were measured, and the optimum asphalt quantity was determined, then the performance comparison between warm mix asphalt and hot mix asphalt were analyzed. Results indicate that warm mix asphalt has the same performance with hot mix asphalt, it can also satisfy the requirement of the airport cement concrete pavement thin overlay. Finally, in order to validate the project application effect, the warm mix asphalt was used in a northwest airport cement concrete pavement thin overlay. After four years use, the construction of the pavement is in good condition, and no disease emerging, the performance can meet the using requirements of the airport.
