Cyberbullying is a common experience among Chinese junior and senior high school students. These findings add to the empirical data on cyberbullying and reinforce the urgent need for cyberbullying prevention in China. Furthermore, from the perspective of practice, it is important to raise our awareness of cyerbullying and reduce the risk factors.

The Majorana zero mode (MZM), which manifests as an exotic neutral excitation in superconductors, is the building block of topological quantum computing. It has recently been found in the vortices of several iron-based superconductors as a zero-bias conductance peak (ZBCP) in tunneling spectroscopy. In particular, a clean and robust MZM has been observed in the cores of free vortices in (Li0.84Fe0.16)OHFeSe. Here using scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS), we demonstrate that Majorana-induced resonant Andreev reflection occurs between the STM tip and this zero-bias bound state, and consequently, the conductance at zero bias is quantized as 2e 2 /h. Our results present a hallmark signature of the MZM in the vortex of an intrinsic topological superconductor, together with its intriguing behavior.A peak at zero energy in tunneling spectroscopy is an important hallmark, but not sufficient proof, for identifying a MZM. For example, although the existence of a MZM is predicted at the ends of a strongly spin-orbital-coupled semiconductor nanowire in the presence of a proximate superconductor and a large Zeeman field [1-7], there are alternative interpretations for the experimental observations of zero energy peaks in these systems [8][9][10][11][12]. Morecompelling evidence for a MZM is that the zero-bias peak possesses the quantized universal conductance, G0 = 2e 2 /h, in tunneling experiments, due to resonant Andreev reflection and the particle-hole symmetry of the MZM [13]. At zero temperature, this Majorana-induced resonant Andreev reflection (MIRAR) would give the quantized conductance regardless of the coupling strength [13]; and at finite temperature, the quantized conductance may be observed when the tunneling coupling is sufficiently strong [1,14]. The quantized conductance of a ZBCP was first observed in the tunneling spectrum of a hybrid device between superconducting aluminum and an InSb nanowire [15]. It thus strongly supports the existence of MZMs in semiconductor nanowire devices, although the ultimate proof of Majorana physics would be a demonstration of non-Abelian statistics [16][17][18]. *

A curriculum for teaching thinking based on a structured theoretical model that combines elements of out-of-context and infusion methods has been shown to have long-term far transfer effects on students' thinking ability and academic achievement. More work is needed to meet the needs of a wider range of abilities.

The transport properties of CrI₃/h-BN/n·CrI₃ (n = 1, 2, 3, 4) MTJs under positive bias voltages exhibit an interesting odd-even effect. Significant tunneling magnetoresistance, a perfect spin filtering effect and remarkable negative differential resistance were obtained.

The burden of road traffic injuries in the People's Republic of China is increasing as evidenced by trends since 1951. Data from the National Statistical Office, Ministry of Communications and the Traffic Administration Bureau were analyzed. Absolute numbers of crashes, fatalities, and injuries, as well as fatalities per 100,000 population and motorization (number of vehicles per 1000 population) were used as indices to measure trends. Regional variations in trends and the characteristics of people injured or killed were also analyzed. Road traffic crashes increased 68-fold, from around 6000 in 1951 to 413,000 in 1999. Excessive speed was the main reported cause of the crashes. The injuries increased 56-fold--from around 5000 to 286,000--and fatalities 97-fold--from 852 to around 84,000--over the same period. The crash, fatality and injury rates also increased after 1985, due to increased motorization spurred by rapid economic growth. The number of four-wheel motor vehicles increased from 60,000 in 1951 to just under a million four-wheel motor vehicles in 1975 and to 10 million in 1987. The number of four-wheel motor vehicles then rose to 50 million in 1999, with an additional 30 million motorcycles. The increase in motorization and fatalities affected all the provinces. Road traffic injuries are the leading cause of death for populations up to the age of 45 years and the leading cause of working-life years lost in China.

BackgroundHIV-related discrimination amongst healthcare providers is one of the strongest obstacles to effectively responding to HIV. This study was conducted to explore the occurrence of and other factors related to discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS amongst healthcare providers in Guangzhou, China.MethodsThis was a cross-sectional study, conducted between July and October 2016, that enrolled healthcare providers from 9 healthcare institutions in Guangzhou, China. HIV-related discrimination was assessed using anonymous self-designed questionnaires. Chi-square tests were used to study the differences in the socio-demographic characteristics, occupational characteristics, HIV-related knowledge and personal attitudes between participants who had and had not discriminated against People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). A multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to study the factors associated with HIV-related discrimination.ResultsA total of 972 healthcare providers were investigated, and 386 (39.7%) had previously served HIV-positive individuals in their work. Administering HIV antibody tests for patients without his or her consent was the most frequent act of discrimination (65.3%), and other forms of discrimination, including “differential treatment” (51.0%), “disclosed information” (46.4%) and “refused to treat” (38.6%), were also prevalent. The logistic regression analysis indicated that people who had worked for 3–7 years, worked in secondary hospitals or lower, worked in surgical departments, had lower scores on HIV transmission knowledge, were dissatisfied with the occupational exposure protection system offered by the government, were worried about HIV-related exposure and feared HIV-related exposure were more likely to commit an act of medical discrimination against PLWHA.ConclusionHIV-related discrimination was not unusual in the healthcare providers of Guangzhou, which may be related to their negative cognitions and attitudes as well as the hospital management system and government policy. Therefore, comprehensive HIV-related knowledge education should be implemented to change the attitude of healthcare providers. In addition, the current laws and regulations should be refined by the government to protect the rights of healthcare providers. The contradiction between designated hospitals and non-designated hospitals should be resolved to ensure that PLWHA receive timely and effective help and treatment.

There is little research on the effects of adolescent administration of antidepressants on behavioural function and inflammation in early-life stressed adult mice. Using maternal separation (MS), a paradigm of early adversity, we investigated the effects of adolescent (PND 33-54) escitalopram (ES; 10mg/kg) exposure on depression- and anxiety-like behaviours and the levels of inflammatory cytokines (interleukin [IL]-1β, tumor necrosis factor [TNF]-α, and IL-10) in the ventral hippocampus (HPV), prefrontal cortex (PFC), and serum in adult (PND 61) male offspring mice. The results showed that MS has no effect on locomotor activity, but increased depression-like behaviours in the saccharin preference test and increased anxiety-like behaviours in the social preference and elevated plus maze tests. MS increased the levels of IL-1β in the HPV, PFC, and serum, while decreasing the level of IL-10 in the HPV. Furthermore, adolescent ES treatment inhibited these depression- and anxiety-like behaviours, decreased the levels of IL-1β, and increased the level of IL-10 in the HPV. The results also showed that there are no effects of chronic escitalopram administration on normal behaviour in control mice. Taken together, the current data provide experimental evidence that MS increases depression and anxiety levels in adult male offspring. Additionally, the findings support the idea that early pharmacological intervention with ES may be an effective treatment for reducing the behavioral abnormalities induced by early adversity and regulating the underlying inflammatory mechanisms involved.
