This paper describes the design of a novel cylindrical millimeter-wave microstrip antenna (MA) with broad beamwidth by means of isotropic transformation (IT). A planar millimeter-wave antenna with broad beamwidth is designed first, and then IT is used to design a conformal one based on the planar structure. In addition, phased array with eight present elements has been designed as an example. Finally, numerical results are given to show that the present antenna possesses broad beamwidth and its array is of large scanning angle, which also verify the validity of the method of IT.

different cases graphically. It is found that, whether the component parameters are negative or not makes the guided modes in a slab waveguide change greatly, and besides, the values of the various components in the same classification will also have great effect on the existence of guided modes and the cutoff properties with imaginary transverse wave numbers. In addition, some peculiar mode properties in contrast to a slab of isotropic left-handed media are obtained: (i) under some specific conditions the guided modes have high-frequency cutoffs, whereas in an isotropic LHM slab the modes with real transverse wave numbers always have low-frequency cutoffs [6]. (ii) in case 2 and case 3, the guided modes with real transverse wave numbers are infinite, which has also been found in the study of the guided modes of a biaxial anisotropic slab waveguide placed in free space in reference [11], and the properties of mode cutoff in the two cases are not the same.ABSTRACT: A novel dual-mode DC-block bandpass filter (BPF) using a pair of V-shape slots on triangular-patch resonators is developed in this letter. The V-shape slots perturb the field distributions of triangularpatch resonators and excite degenerate modes. Compared to our previous research, the length of input/output (I/O) lines of the proposed filter is reduced so that the circuit becomes compact. Finally, the good agreement between the simulated and measured results of the proposed BPF is presented. The velocity of critical surface at microwave band in laser-induced plasma was measured and the results are presented. The results indicate that the velocity of critical surface with low electron density is larger than that with the high one; and the velocity of critical surface increases with the laser power density.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
