Me parece que el problema fundamental de la construcción de iglesias no es tanto el cumplimiento de la liturgia, que debe darse por supuesto, sino la capacidad de evocación del misterio: la convicción de que en esos edificios particulares —que por eso se hacen sagrados— habita Dios, habita físicamente Dios. Y esa certeza ha de conducir a trabajar de una manera especialmente cuidadosa. Yo creo que cuando uno recibe a alguien en su casa, y se trata de alguien a quien se valora, alguien importante, uno la limpia todo lo que puede, hace los arreglos que tal vez lleve tiempo sin hacer. Creo que con esa actitud de una cierta humildad, si queréis, que también reclama la excelencia —lo veíamos en ejemplos que han salido estos días, incluso esta misma mañana—, es con la que ha de plantearse el futuro, que es la última parte del título de la mesa redonda.
La identidad del edificio de culto cristiano es uno de los problemas mas delicados que ha de afrontar la arquitectura religiosa en el arranque de este nuevo milenio. Pienso que la arquitectura religiosa contemporánea es hija de dos revoluciones: de la revolución arquitectónica, que se puede visualizar en el Movimiento Moderno; y de la revolución litúrgica, que también se puede ver muy claramente en el Movimiento Litúrgico. Se tata de dos peticiones de principio, de dos vueltas a los orígenes, de dos nuevas formulaciones conceptuales de un tema milenario como es la arquitectura religiosa, y que en el caso de la arquitectura cristiana, de la arquitectura católica, han dejado a los edificios de culto en una inédita situación de precariedad identitaria. Algo que no había sucedido en ningún momento de la historia. Podríamos decir que el frío concepto —lo que idealmente debe ser una iglesia— ha ahogado la vida. Pero también hay que decir que esto ha ocurrido sobre todo en Occidente. Hoy el mundo ha cambiado. Vivimos en un mundo mestizo, un mundo lleno de migraciones, de conexiones, de oportunidades, de múltiples intercambios, de sistemas de información compartidos. La vida fluye rápido, muy rápido. Existen cruces de creencias, diálogo entre esas creencias, conflictos, y en muchas partes del mundo la religión aparece como un factor de cohesión social y de identidad comunitaria. Por eso nos podríamos preguntar: en este mundo global, ¿qué respuestas tiene la arquitectura como disciplina para estos fenómenos? ¿Qué respuestas podemos dar los arquitectos? ¿Qué experiencias —en este sentido— existen?
Introducción: El sedentarismo y el consumo de alimentos no saludables se asocian con sobrepeso y obesidad en la población. El consumo de frutas, verduras y legumbres ha disminuido con el tiempo y gran parte de la población chilena no cumple con las recomendaciones de ingesta diaria. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el IMC de adultos chilenos y el consumo y frecuencia de diversos alimentos naturales, procesados y ultraprocesados. Metodología: Estudio transversal analítico en 516 sujetos entre 18 y 68 años. Se determinó el estado nutricional por medio de IMC. Para analizar el consumo de alimentos naturales y comida procesada se utilizó la encuesta sobre hábitos alimentarios. Los participantes firmaron un consentimiento informado. Los valores obtenidos fueron analizados con el programa estadístico SPSS®. Los resultados obtenidos fueron analizados por medio de T-Student, Chi-cuadrado de Pearson, ANOVA de una vía y prueba exacta de Fisher, para así definir la asociación entre ellos. Resultados: El 0,8 % de los evaluados se clasificó como bajo peso; 42,2 % con estado nutricional normal; 42,8 % en sobrepeso y el 14,0 % con obesidad. El 37,8 % de los evaluados no consume frutas diariamente; el 22,9 % no consume verduras durante el día y 26,4 % no consume legumbres semanalmente. El 39,5 % de las personas toma al día 1 o más porciones de bebidas azucaradas y el 35,3 % consume frituras 1 o más veces por semana. Un mayor consumo de frutas (p=0,04), verduras (p=0,002) y legumbres (p=0,03) se asoció a un menor IMC. El consumo elevado de bebidas y jugos azucarados se asoció a un mayor IMC (p=0,002). Finalmente, se evidenció una asociación significativa entre el consumo de verduras al día, legumbres por semana y jugos azucarados respecto del estado nutricional (95% de confianza). Conclusiones: Se observó una frecuencia elevada de sobrepeso y obesidad acompañado de un bajo consumo de frutas, verduras y legumbres. Los adultos que tenían una ingesta mayor de alimentos naturales presentaron un menor IMC, a diferencia de aquellos que tenían una ingesta más elevada de bebidas azucaradas y alimentos ultraprocesados.
