Da die germanistische Forschung das Prosagedicht bis heute eher stiefmütterlich behandelt hat – die letzte monographische Untersuchung liegt mittlerweile 15 Jahre zurück –, verdient das Erscheinen einer neuen Arbeit zum Thema besondere Aufmerksamkeit, zumal wenn sie erstmals eine „komparatistische Betrachtung“ (S. 21) der Gattung zu liefern verspricht. Leider vermag Cornelia Ortliebs Studie die an sie herangetragenen Erwartungen in keiner Weise einzulösen. Dies liegt zunächst und vor allem daran, daß sich die Verfasserin genau genommen nicht mit dem Genre Prosagedicht, sondern mit dem sehr viel älteren Phänomen ‚poetischer Prosa‘ beschäftigt. Indem sie das Gedicht in Prosa „als Sonderfall des poetischen Sprechens“ begreift (S. 20), zielt sie auf die Analyse von Textstrategien ab, welche „die diskursiven Anteile des prosaischen Sprechens mit den genuin dichterischen Verfahren zu einer Erweiterung beider Möglichkeiten zu verbinden“ trachten (S. 77). Als ‚modern‘ könnten diese Techniken immer dann gelten, wenn ihnen das Wissen um ihr Gemachtsein eingezeichnet sei. Und so steht denn folgerichtig im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit eine „Klasse von Texten“, „die in jeweils zu präzisierender Weise auf ihren eigenen Status reflektieren und in ihrer Konstruktion sowohl von bestimmten anderen Texten abhängig sind als auch von dieser Abhängigkeit sprechen“ (S. 145). Damit aber analysiert Ortlieb im Grunde eine ästhetische Verfahrensweise, die im übrigen auf weite Strecken jener ähnelt, für die Andreas Böhn jüngst den Terminus „Formzitat“ vorgeschlagen hat, die zugleich freilich auch Gemeinsamkeiten mit jenen autoreflexiven Formen semiotisch-semantischer Komplexionsbildung aufweist, die Moritz Baßler im Bereich moderner Kurzprosa in den Blick gerückt und mit dem Begriff der „Textur“ zu fassen versucht hat.
geb. Porges (1866geb. Porges ( -1949, die im späten 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhundert bekannteste lebende deutschsprachige Dramatikerin, war lange Zeit völlig vergessen. Erst Mitte der achtziger Jahre wurde die jüdischstämmige Protestantin wiederentdeckt und in zwei Monographien -einer Dissertation und einer Magisterarbeit -als Autorin gewürdigt. 1 Es folgten einige Laufbahnschriften der US-amerikanischen Germanistik, die sich um eine Re-Kanonisierung ihrer Werke bemühten. Von einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit wahrgenommen wurde Elsa Bernstein aber erst, nachdem 1999 die bis dahin unbekannten, mit Hilfe einer Blindenschreibmaschine zu Papier gebrachten Erinnerungen an ihre Jahre im Lager Theresienstadt (1942)(1943)(1944)(1945) veröffentlicht wurden. 2 Seitdem ist die Münchner Schriftstellerin langsam, aber stetig zum Gegenstand wissenschaftlicher Beschäftigung geworden. Neben diversen Aufsätzen zu ihrem OEuvre und einer Neuausgabe ihres Dramas Dämmerung 3 kam in jüngster Zeit der hier anzuzeigende Sammelband mit Beiträgen zu Leben und Werk heraus, der auf ein Symposium zurückgeht, das im März 2002 an der University of Illinois in Chicago stattfand. 1 Ulrike Zophoniasson-Baierl, Elsa Bernstein alias Ernst Rosmer.
