O cisto dentígero, também conhecido como cisto folicular, origina-se a partir do acúmulo de líquido entre o epitélio reduzido do órgão do esmalte e a coroa dentária, o que resulta na separação do folículo que circunda a coroa de um dente não erupcionado. Geralmente são radiolúcidos e uniloculares. O objetivo do trabalho foi relatar um caso de cisto dentígero associado a um terceiro molar inferior impactado provocando reabsorção radicular externa do primeiro molar inferior. Paciente de 28 anos, sexo feminino, compareceu a clínica de ensino com queixa principal de “meu siso está incomodando” há cerca de 6 meses e sensibilidade no primeiro molar inferior esquerdo. Foram realizadas coleta de Fibrina Rica em Plaquetas e Leucócitos (L-PRF), exodontia do primeiro molar inferior e terceiro molar inferior esquerdo, enucleação do cisto como biópsia e a obtenção do resultado compatível com cisto dentígero. O diagnóstico e resultado obtidos nesse caso foram positivos. Os exames radiográficos e histopatológico foram realizados para complementar o diagnóstico. O histopatológico deverá ser realizado, pois o cisto dentígero é semelhante a outras lesões como o tumor odontogênico queratocístico e o ameloblastoma unicístico. As Fibrinas Ricas em Plaquetas e Leucócitos são inseridas formando um tampão no tecido lesado e são responsáveis pelo desencadeamento das próximas etapas da regeneração tecidual. As técnicas empregadas para tratamento do cisto dentígero são a enucleação e a marsupialização e em 85% dos casos a escolhida é a enucleação e a extração do dente associado. O cirurgião-dentista deve estar preparado para fazer o diagnóstico preciso frente ao cisto dentígero e realizar o tratamento adequado ou o encaminhamento a um especialista, quando for necessário.
Objetivo: verificar o índice de perda dentária em pacientes idosos normossistêmicos, hipertensos e diabéticos. Métodos: o estudo foi realizado por meio de análise de prontuários e coleta das informações obtidas na anamnese e odontograma, dos pacientes com idade superior ou igual a 60 anos de idade, atendidos na Clínica Odontológica de Ensino (COE) da Universidade Evangélica de Goiás no período de 2018 a 2020. Os dados foram analisados pelo Software “Jamovi Stats Open Now”, tendo-se aplicado o teste exato de Fisher, com o nível de significância de 5% e o intervalo de confiança de 95%. Resultados: um total de 87 pacientes foram analisados, sendo 40 (46%) do sexo masculino e 47 (54%) do sexo feminino. A faixa etária, foi subdividida em 3 grupos sendo, grupo 1 de 60 a 70 anos que corresponde a 56 (64,4%) pacientes, grupo 2 de 71 a 80 anos que corresponde a 22 (25,3%) pacientes e grupo 3 de > 80 anos que corresponde a 9 (10,3%) pacientes. Em relação as condições sistêmicas, 33 (37,9%) foram pacientes considerados normossistêmicos, 37 (42,5) pacientes foram classificados como hipertensos, 4 (4,6%) pacientes como diabéticos, 10 (11,5%) pacientes como diabéticos e hipertensos e outras comorbidades referente a 3 (3,4%) pacientes. Conclusão: embora, não houve diferença estatisticamente significativa entre os grupos, a perda dentária foi maior nos pacientes hipertensos e/ou diabéticos em relação aos normossistêmicos. Demonstrando que as alterações sistêmicas podem levar a maior perda dentária.
Introdução: O cisto periapical origina-se a partir de um granuloma periapical com epitélio preexistente, oqual constitui um foco de tecido de granulação, cronicamente inflamado, no ápice de um dente semvitalidade. A prevalência do cisto periapical corresponde a cerca de 60% dos cistos em maxila e mandíbula,representando o mais comum dos cistos odontogênicos. Objetivo: O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar umcaso clínico de enucleação de cisto periapical e preenchimento da cavidade com biomaterial e Fibrina ricaem plaquetas e leucócitos (L-PRF). Relato de caso: Paciente CAFS, gênero masculino, 62 anos,assintomático e encaminhado para tratamento endodôntico do dente 34. Após exame radiográfico foidetectado lesão radiolúcida de limites definidos envolvendo os ápices radiculares dos dentes 33, 34 e aregião do 35 (ausente), com hipótese de cisto periapical. Foi planejada a enucleação da lesão cística epreenchimento da loja óssea com o osso bovino sintético (Lumina-Bone) e L-PRF, para melhor cicatrizaçãoe auxílio na neoformação óssea, melhores resultados finais da cirurgia, além de diminuir reação inflamatóriae também auxiliar no reparo de feridas. Considerações Finais: O L-PRF apresentou-se como umaalternativa viável no controle do quadro inflamatório, auxiliando o processo de reparo gengival eestabilização do material de enxertia, permitindo assim a futura reabilitação do paciente por meio deimplantes osseointegráveis. O diagnóstico anatomopatológico do caso foi confirmado como sendo cistoperiapical.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Cisto periapical; Cicatrização de feridas; L-PRF ou fibrina rica em leucócitos e plaquetas.
