Objetivou-se com este estudo conhecer padrão tomográfico e epidemiológico mais prevalentes dos pacientes admitidos com acidente vascular encefálico (AVE) no Hospital de Urgência de Teresina – HUT no ano de 2020. Trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico, observacional quantitativo, transversal, retrospectivo, realizado por coleta de dados em prontuários eletrônicos. Os resultados revelaram que, dos 384 casos, 73,6% tiveram AVE isquêmico (AVEi), a região cerebral mais acometida no AVEi foi a região fronto-parietal com 36,4% dos casos e no AVEh a região parieto- temporal com 28,7%. Os principais fatores de risco foram Hipertensão Arterial (62,5%) e Diabete Melito (31,2%). O intervalo de tempo entre a admissão do paciente e a realização da Tomografia Computadorizada (TC) variou entre 30min a 3h. Das intervenções apenas 3% usaram trombolítico. A partir dos resultados conclui-se que o perfil da população estudada não difere daquele, usualmente, encontrado na literatura e que houve dificuldade em determinar o tempo de início dos sintomas e, com isso, a indicação da terapia trombolítica.
Objetivou-se com esse estudo, analisar o perfil de sensibilidade bacteriana por meio de laudos de culturas coletadas em pacientes de Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI), evidenciando o direcionamento para conduta terapêutica. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, retrospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa das culturas de urina, sangue e secreção traqueal. A amostra foi constituída por 330 laudos de culturas positivas de pacientes internados no período de 01 de fevereiro de 2019 a 01 de fevereiro de 2020 na UTI do Hospital de Urgência de Teresina Dr. Zenon Rocha. Do total de laudos analisados, 227 (68,50%) foram positivos em secreção traqueal, 71 (21,50%) em hemocultura e 32 (9,70%) em urocultura. Sendo a Pseudomonas aeruginosa a mais prevalente na secreção traqueal, a Acinetobacter coagulase negativa na hemocultura e Klebsiella pneumoniae na urocultura. Diante disso, é possível afirmar que os resultados obtidos seguiram o padrão de estudos semelhantes realizados em outros locais, com particularidades decorrentes da epidemiologia da região estudada.
Os exames bioquímicos de perfil lipídico são a forma de investigação de dislipidemia, um dos principais fatores de risco para as doenças cardiovasculares. Profissionais médicos devem saber quando corretamente solicitar esses exames, interpretá-los e tomar condutas para redução dos fatores de risco modificáveis e da dislipidemia em si para, então, oferecer uma assistência adequada ao paciente. Essa pesquisa objetivou avaliar e comparar o conhecimento dos acadêmicos de medicina sobre o assunto. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, observacional e transversal, realizado com 116 alunos do curso de medicina de uma faculdade em Teresina-PI que estavam regularmente matriculados no internato (do 9° ao 12° período), coletados através de um questionário online com um total de 13 questões. Os resultados indicaram uma média de acertos crescente quanto maior o período em curso, além de maior domínio quando o aluno já havia cursado o ciclo de Atenção Básica. Contudo, os resultados gerais refletiram ainda um conhecimento reduzido sobre a dislipidemia e suas condutas.
