Objetivou-se com esse estudo, analisar o perfil de sensibilidade bacteriana por meio de laudos de culturas coletadas em pacientes de Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI), evidenciando o direcionamento para conduta terapêutica. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, retrospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa das culturas de urina, sangue e secreção traqueal. A amostra foi constituída por 330 laudos de culturas positivas de pacientes internados no período de 01 de fevereiro de 2019 a 01 de fevereiro de 2020 na UTI do Hospital de Urgência de Teresina Dr. Zenon Rocha. Do total de laudos analisados, 227 (68,50%) foram positivos em secreção traqueal, 71 (21,50%) em hemocultura e 32 (9,70%) em urocultura. Sendo a Pseudomonas aeruginosa a mais prevalente na secreção traqueal, a Acinetobacter coagulase negativa na hemocultura e Klebsiella pneumoniae na urocultura. Diante disso, é possível afirmar que os resultados obtidos seguiram o padrão de estudos semelhantes realizados em outros locais, com particularidades decorrentes da epidemiologia da região estudada.
Objetivos: avaliar a ocorrência de asfixia perinatal em uma maternidade de referência do Estado do Piauí, descrever e definir os principais fatores de risco relacionados à asfixia perinatal e identificar a ocorrência de comorbidades relacionadas ao evento. Metodologia: estudo observacional, descritivo, quantitativo, transversal com população de nascidos vivos que sofreram asfixia perinatal entre 2012 e 2018 registrados na Maternidade Dona Evangelina Rosa. Resultados: O estudo contou com uma amostra de 39 recém-nascidos, sendo que 84,65 dos recém-nascidos apresentaram Apgar no 1º minuto com asfixia grave e no 5º minuto com asfixia moderada, além disso, 30,7% tinham baixo peso (<2500 gramas), 61,5% possuíam anomalias congênitas 61,7 % eram prematuros. Quanto as variáveis maternas, 29,7% das mães tinham entre 14 e 20 anos, 59% não tinham comorbidades, 56,8% realizaram menos que 6 consultas pré-natais, sendo que 71,1% desta a bolsa amniótica ainda era integra. Conclusão: Portanto, medidas associadas ao pré-natal e a assistência ao recém-nascido são imprescindíveis no controle dos riscos de asfixia perinatal.
