A new monotypic Theraphosidae genus, Kankuamo Perafán, Galvis & Pérez-Miles, gen. n., is described from Colombia, with a new type of urticating setae. These setae differ from others principally by having a small distal oval patch of lanceolate reversed barbs. Males of Kankuamo gen. n. additionally differ by having a palpal bulb organ very divergent from all known species, with many conspicuous keels dispersed across the median tegulum to the tip, mostly with serrated edges. Females differ by having spermathecae with a single notched receptacle, with two granulated lobes and several irregular sclerotized longitudinal striations. The new urticating setae, type VII, is characterized, illustrated and its releasing mechanism is discussed. It is hypothesized that these setae are the first in Theraphosinae subfamily whose release mechanism is by direct contact. Kankuamo gen. n. is described and illustrated on the basis of the type species Kankuamo marquezi Perafán, Galvis & Gutiérrez, sp. n., and their remarkable characteristics, morphological affinities and cladistic relationship are analyzed.

The Andean region of Northern South America is widely recognized as a hotspot with extreme levels of diversity, endemism, and threat. In a taxonomic study on jumping spiders from Colombia, nineteen new species of Amphidraus Simon, 1900 were found, all of which with small-scale endemic distributional patterns. Sixteen of these new species are described from the Andean region, eight of which being restricted to the Cundiboyacense high-Andean plateau (A. bochica sp. nov., A. guatavita sp. nov., A. mae sp. nov., A. pae sp. nov., A. sie sp. nov., A. sotairensis sp. nov., A. tisquesusa sp. nov. and A. tundama sp. nov.), in the Boyacá and Cundinamarca departments. The eight remaining Andean species are distributed out of this high-Andean plateau, in the Eastern Mountain Range of Boyacá (A. chie sp. nov., A. somondoco sp. nov. and A. sua sp. nov.), Cundinamarca (A. quinini sp. nov. and A. zaque sp. nov.), Huila (A. guaitipan sp. nov.) and Santander (A. zipa sp. nov.) departments, and in the Central Mountain Range of Risaralda department (A. quimbaya sp. nov.). Additionally, A. sikuani sp. nov. is described from the Eastern department of Meta, and A. colombianus sp. nov. and A. tanimuca sp. nov. from the Amazonian department of Vaupés. Finally, a map with these new records is included, along with a short comment about conservation of biota in the Andean region.

The neotropical genus Scopocira was described by Simon (1900) to include the type species S. dentichelis Simon, 1900 from Venezuela, and S. tenella Simon, 1900 and S. histrio Simon, 1900 from Brazil. Subsequently, different authors, such as Mello-Leitão (1922, 1941), Chamberlin & Ivie (1936), Crane (1945), Galiano (1958, 1963, 1969, 1981, 1982),Vedel et al. (2013) and Rubio (2014), made additions, changes, transfers and new reports in the genus. Recently, Costa & Ruiz (2014) presented a taxonomic revision of Scopocira, validating six of the previously described species and describing eight new species from South America, increasing the known diversity of the genus up to 14 species. Species of Scopocira can be recognized by the presence of one apophysis on the prolateral face of the male chelicerae and embolus arising from the retrolateral side of the tegulum in the male palps (Galiano 1958; Costa & Ruiz 2014). While comparing material from Colombia to the illustrations of the revision (Costa & Ruiz 2014), it was possible to identify a new species and the undescribed female of one species described in that paper. The new species is described here, based on specimens collected in the Amazonian department of Vaupés, Colombia. Also, the female of S. crotalica Costa & Ruiz, 2014 is described and illustrated for the first time, based on material from the Amazonian state of Guainía, Colombia. Additionally, S. dentichelis Simon, 1900 and S. tenella Simon, 1900 are also newly recorded from this country.

A new jumping spider species of the genus Maeota (Araneae: Salticidae: Euophryini), with new faunistic data of the tribe from Colombia Una nueva especie de araña saltarina del género Maeota (Araneae: Salticidae: Euophryini), con nuevos datos faunísticos de la tribu para Colombia William GalviS RESUMENUna nueva especie de araña saltarina del género Maeota (Salticidae), M. galeanoae sp. nov. es descrita e ilustrada del departamento caribeño del Magdalena, Colombia. Adicionalmente, el género Anasaitis es reportado por primera vez para el país, con la especie A. canalis, del departamento del Chocó. Además, se presentan nuevos reportes para el país de Maeota serrapophysis, en los departamentos de Magdalena, Quindío y Valle del Cauca, con los individuos de la región sur presentando un patrón de coloración ligeramente diferente, conformado por un prosoma, abdomen y patas con un patrón reticulado marrón con gris. De la misma forma, nuevos datos faunísticos en el país se presentan para M. betancuri e Ilargus galianoae. Finalmente, se incluye un mapa de distribución con estos nuevos datos y aquellos previamente publicados para los taxones aquí tratados.
