AbstractGlobal solar radiation is set as monitor complex variables and their estimation is required in understanding the biological and chemical environment, the estimation process can be performed by positioning or empirical formulas, but the accuracy of the results obtained are not suitable for understanding processes evaluated. The aim of this study was to establish a statistical model for estimating global solar radiation from meteorological data alternates. Meteorological information was supplied by Instituto de Hidrología, Meteorología y Estudios Ambientales from Colombia, from one season to tell with the measurement of solar radiation, temperature, relative humidity and sunshine duration; statistical regressions were raised suggested by Ångström -Prescott and Gueymard. It showed little relationship between the variables, presenting the best fit linear regression between relative humidity and solar radiation with a coefficient R2 of 11.14 %. Keywords Solar radiation; solar radiation estimation; statistical model.
