The growth of eceng gondok (Water hyacinth) in Rawa Pening Lake showed rapid increase.. Based on the mandate of the National Lake conference in Bali and the 16th World Lake Conference, Rawa Pening is one of the fifteen national lakes which need to be treated for its conservation. Reducing number of eceng gondok plants is one of the alternatif. However, further processing is required to treat the waste of eceng gondok. One attempt is to convert eceng gondok (water hyacinth) into liquid smoke product. This article reviewes the potency of eceng gondok for liquid smoke through pyrolisis method. The liquid smoke can be used for various applications such as preservatives, antioxidants, biopesticides and perisa disinfectants. Pyrolysis is a combustion process in the absence of oxygen to produce liquid and charcoal activated charcoal products called activated charcoal. The pyrolysis process is generally carried out at a temperature range between 200-700 °C. The pyrolysis process is one of the methods chosen in order to strive for development that suppresses the formation of CO gas but releases water vapor. Pyrolysis at a temperature of 300-700 ° C, produces the most dominant compounds 1.6 Anhyro-beta-d-glucopyranose, phenol, and acetic acid. The reaction that occurs during pyrolysis of this temperature is the release of water vapor instead of carbon gas so that it is safe for the environment. The discussion on this article focused on the production of liquid smoke from eceng gondok biomass.

The Covid-19 pandemic situation has hampered the learning process. This can have a negative effect on the quality of the science learning output. This study aims to describe critical thinking skills and science learning outcomes through the application of the discovery learning model assisted by the Google Meet application. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which consists of four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The subjects in this study were 15 students. The research instrument used was the critical thinking skills observation sheet and the learning outcome test sheet. The results showed that critical thinking skills in the pre-cycle stage were 52.33, cycle I 60.17, and cycle II 69.17. Then, the completeness of student learning outcomes in the pre-cycle is 60.00%, the first cycle is 73.33%, and the second cycle is 86.67%. Based on this, it can be concluded that learning with the discovery learning model assisted by the Google Meet application can improve critical thinking skills and science learning outcomes. The results of this study have implications for finding solutions to improve the quality of science learning output.
This research was aimed to determine the effect of supplementation of vegetable oil (corn oil, palm oil and kapok seed oil) on in vitro ruminal fermentability and nutrient digestibility. Experiment design used was Randomized Block Design with four treatments and four replication based on rumen fluid sampling time. The four treatments namely R0 = feed without oil supplementation; R1 = R0 + 5% corn oil; R2 = R0 + 5% palm oil; and R3 = R0 + 5% kapok seed oil. The result showed that supplementation of 5% vegetable oil did not affect (P>0,05) the rumen pH, A/P ratio, and efficiency of energy conversion. The total VFA, acetate, propionate, butyrate, methane and NH3 was higher (P<0,05) in supplementation of 5% vegetable oil than he control. The population of protozoa, microbial protein, in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD), organic matter digestibility (IVOMD), and crude fiber digestibility (IVCFD) was lower (P<0,05) in supplementation of 5% compared to the control. Population of protozoa decreased until 58,76% for R1; 66,89% for R2; and 43,33% for R3. It can be concluded that supplementation of 5% vegetable oil decreased the population of protozoa, increased the production of VFA and NH3. Supplementation of 5% kapok seed oil resulting the highest of total VFA, acetate, propionate, butyrate and NH3 among other treatments.
Pandemic covid-19 requires teachers everywhere to take advantage of online learning. This study aims to investigate the factors that affect the teacher’s intention to use online learning based on the extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) approach. The extended TAM developed from the previous research. The population of this study were the teachers at Al Asror Islamic Boarding School. The data was obtained by using a questionnaire. The analytical method used was multiple regression analysis. The result showed that only perceived usefulness and teacher’s readiness had positive and significant impact on teachers’ intention to use online learning. There was negative and significant influence of perceive of ease of use on teachers’ intention to use online learning. Prior experience and computer knowledge didn’t have significant impact. The results also showed that prior experience and computer knowledge had a significant and positive effect on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Teacher’s readiness was the most dominant factor among other variables.
The use of papaya latex formulated with nitrogen supplementation and minerals in the form of multinutrition blocks that can pass through the rumen is expected to improve nutritional quality and feed digestibility. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of fermented rice straw, papaya fruit latex and blood clamshell flour as a main raw material in the manufacture of multinutrition blocks plus herbal anthelmintic medicine (papaya fruit latex) on physical quality (texture, color, aroma, hardness), chemical quality (proximate composition and mineral content of Ca, P, Mg, Cu, Zn). Microbiological tests were carried out on total bacteria, Salmonella and Escherichia coli. The research design used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatment levels of papaya fruit administration and 4 replications. Data is processed statistically using ANOVA. The results of organoleptic physical quality analysis showed significant differences in the texture of the product given the highest papaya latex (0.007ml / kg). Chemical analysis of the product showed a quantitative increase in protein, although statistically the treatment did not show any significant differences. The results of the analysis of the microbiological quality of the product quantitatively showed that the resulting multinutrition block herbs were not contaminated with negative bacteria. It was concluded that multinutrition block herbs can be given to livestock as supplementary feed.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sifat fisikokimia pada dendeng sapi setelah dilakukan perendaman dengan gula kelapa dan madu. Penelitian ini terdiri atas 4 perlakuan variasi konsentrasi gula kelapa dan madu, yaitu: 30:0%, 22,5:7,5%, 15:15%, 7,5:22,5%. Kadar fruktosa, glukosa, kadar air, aktivitas air diamati pada dendeng hasil perlakuan. Data dianalisis dengan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan proporsi madu dalam larutan perendam dapat secara nyata menurunkan kandungan fruktosa, glukosa, kadar air, aktivitas air pada dendeng sapi. Kesimpulannya, sifat fisikokimia dendeng dapat berubah sesuai dengan proporsi konsentrasi gula kelapa dan madu.The Physico-Chemical Properties of Indonesian Dried Beef Immersed in Palm Sugar and HoneyAbstractThis study is aimed to investigate the physics-chemical aspect of Indonesian dried beef that was immersed in palm sugar and honey. Four ratios of palm sugar and honey were used, i.e. 30:0%, 22.5:7.5%, 15:15%, 7.5:22.5%. The level of fructose, glucose, water content, and water activity were analysed as the dried beef quality. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The results indicated that the elevation in the honey concentration in the ratio of immersion provided significant effect on decrease in fructose and glucose levels, water content, water activity. As conclusion, the ratio of palm sugar and honey might provide the effect on the change of fructose and glucose levels, water content, water activity.•••
Keterampilan wirausaha santri adalah sangat penting untuk diasah dan ditingkatkan. Santripreneur adalah jawaban kalangan pondok pesantren untuk menjawab tantangan zaman industri 4.0. Pondok pesantren As Salafy Al Asror adalah pesantren yang memberikan perhatian lebih dalam pengembangan kewirausahaan santri. Santri diharapkan menjadi warga yang mandiri dan mampu menghasilkan produk-produk dari bahan apa pun, termasuk dari limbah kayu yang tersedia cukup melimpah. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian ini, tim dari FE UNNES akan memberikan tambahan keterampilan kepada santri prenenur. Kegiatan pengabdian telah dilaksanakan bersama mitra pengabdian (Pondok Pesantren As Salafy Al Asror) dan Direktorat Jenderal Industri Kecil, Menengah dan Aneka Kementerian Perindustrian yang mempunyai program sejenis untuk meningkatkan keterampilan wirausaha santri melalui dan pelatihan dan pendampingan olah limbah kayu. Kegiatan pertama telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 30 Maret sampai dengan 2 April 2021 dengan narasumber utama dari Kementerian Perindustrian. Selama 4 hari, santri mendapatkan pelatihan bagaimana menghasilkan produk ekonomis dari bahan limbah kayu. Kementerian juga memberikan alat agar santri dapat menghasilkan produk terbaik dan berkelanjutan. Tim kementerian melakukan monev untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan oleh santri yang telah sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Tim pengabdi memberikan pendampingan bagi tim Kementerian saat pelatihan dan monev yang telah dilakukan. Tim pengabdi juga telah menyelenggarakan kegiatan lanjutan pada tanggal 16 Oktober 2021 untuk menguatkan semangat dan motivasi santri dalam menghasilkan produk inovatif bernilai ekonomis dari bahan limbah kayu. Tim pengabdi berusaha untuk memberikan pendampingan teknis kepada santri untuk terus berkreasi dalam menghasilkan produk. Tim pengabdi bersama pengasuh pondok pesantren juga memberikan pemahaman kepada santri untuk mampu memasarkan produk yang telah dihasilkan. Pengalaman yang dimiliki dibagi kepada santri yang sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan untuk tetap menjaga kualitas produk yang telah dihasilkan.
