O Craqueamento Catalítico Fluido (FCC) é um processo usado na indústria petroquímica para converter algumas frações de petróleo que são mais pesadas em frações mais leves, como gasolina e GLP, por exemplo. A conversão ocorre devido à introdução de secas denominadas catalisadoras no interior de risers industriais da FCC. O catalisador aquecido entra em contato com o óleo líquido à base do riser, promovendo a vaporização e a criação de vapores de hidrocarbonetos que compõem o óleo. Os padrões físicos e o fluxo de exibição, na maioria das vezes, são usados por meio de uso de técnicas não intrusivas, envolvendo tomografia por transmissão gama, que possui uma vantagem de não pertencer ao sistema. Este estudo teve por objetivo caracterizar a morfologia,composição química e densidade aparente do catalisador da FCC sem status ativado, bem como, avaliar o coeficiente de atenuação linear e mássico através de simulações sem código MCNPX e irradiação experimental usando fontes radioativas de césio-137 e americano-241 e com seleção extra selecionada do XCOM para o NIST. Os dados de saída das simulações e experimentos foram introduzidos na equação deLambert de cerveja , aqui adaptado para uma equação linear reduzida uma repetição, onde foi aplicado ou coeficiente de determinação como fator de ajuste, que atestou ou teve bom funcionamento do modelo analisado.
Introdução : O câncer de próstata é tido como um problema de saúde pública. No Brasil, de acordo com o Instituto Nacional do Câncer, ele é o segundo mais frequente em homens [1]. Um dos tratamentos que pode ser utilizado para esse câncer é a braquiterapia de próstata com baixa taxa de dose. Esta, consiste na aplicação de determinado número de sementes radioativas no interior da próstata através de agulhas inseridas na região perineal. Contudo, esse procedimento pode causar danos indesejáveis em tecidos e órgãos sadios circundantes e, para minimizar esses danos, deve-se realizar um planejamento prévio e eficaz através de avaliações dosimétricas. Uma das formas de realizar avaliações dosimétricas consiste em utilizar Modelos Computacionais de Exposição (MCEs). Estes são compostos, fundamentalmente, por um algoritmo simulador de determinada fonte radioativa, um fantoma computacional e um código Monte Carlo (MC) para realizar o transporte, a interação da radiação com a matéria, bem como avaliar a energia depositada e grandezas de normalização em regiões de interesse. A construção de MCEs bem como a análise dos resultados gerados por eles, envolve a utilização ferramentas computacionais (FCs). As FCs desenvolvidas pelo Grupo de Pesquisa em Dosimetria Numérica (GDN) têm sido concentradas, principalmente, nos softwares DIP [2] e MonteCarlo [3].O objetivo desse trabalho foi desenvolver FCs para construir um MCE (MSUP_VOI_Prostata) e avaliar o comportamento da dose de radiação na próstata e em órgãos e tecidos próximos à ela, quando diferentes blocos (VOIs), com diferentes distribuições aleatórias de sementes radioativas de I-125, são gerados ao longo dos três principais eixos anatômicos (X, Y e Z). Essa avaliação visa selecionar um volume da próstata para inserir certa quantidade de sementes que gere uma maior dose de radiação na próstata e menor nos órgãos sadios adjacentes.Metodologia : A construção do MSUP_VOI_Prostata se deu através de adaptações realizadas no MCE MSUP do Departamento de Energia Nuclear da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (DEN/UFPE) [4]. Foram criados seis arquivos de entrada do tipo MSUP_DirSen_IProstata.egsinp, onde Dir = direção (X, Y ou Z) e Sen = sentido (+ ou -). Cada arquivo contém parâmetros necessários para iniciar a simulação, escritos em formato a ser lido no código de usuário MSUP_Prostata.mortran. FCs foram implementadas nos softwares MonteCarlo e DIP para gerar os arquivos contendo espectros discretos de energia numerados (EnergyDiscreteEspectra.txt) e as coordenadas (x, y, z) dos voxels centrais de cada semente dentro da próstata (SeedsBlocks_DirSentI125.txt), respectivamente. Os resultados da simulação, obtidos com o MSUP_VOI_Prostata, consistem em vários arquivos do tipo: MSUP_NblcDirSentIProstata.35keV.data. Onde, Nblc = Nº do bloco (01, 02...); Dir = direção (X, Y ou Z); Sent = sentido (+ ou -). Esses arquivos contém a relação de todos os órgão segmentados no fantoma MASH_SUP [5] e seus respectivos valores de dose por atividade acumulada (D/Ã), em mGy/MBq.s. Uma FC foi implementada no software MonteCarlo para ler esses arquivos e gerar gráficos e tabelas que relacionam a D/Ã nos órgãos de interesse, com a posição, em cm, de cada distribuição de sementes ao longo dos três eixos anatômicos.Resultados : O gráfico da Figura 1 foi gerado através de uma FC implementada no software MonteCarlo e mostra a variação da D/Ã na próstata (PR), parede da bexiga (PB), testículos (TE) e parede do cólon (PC), nas distribuições de sementes localizadas ao longo de Z+ (sentido craniocaudal do fantoma). Observa-se, como esperado, que a D/Ã se matém aproximadamente constante na próstata, diminui na parede da bexiga e parede do cólon, e aumenta nos testículos. Para esse caso, a melhor distribuição de sementes estaria na posição 89,64 cm, pois a redução nos valores de D/Ã nas paredes do cólon e bexiga são mais significativas que o aumento apresentado pelos testículos.Conclusões: Utilizando as FCs e o MCE MSUP_VOI_Prostata desenvolvido nesse trabalho, é possível escolher uma região específica da próstata para inserir determinado número de sementes radioativas que gere uma dose máxima na próstata e mínima nos órgãos e/ou tecidos sadios adjacentes.
Modelos computacionais de exposição (MCEs) são usados em dosimetria numérica para estimar a dose absorvida, que corresponde à energia média depositada em um dado volume de massa, nos órgãos e tecidos radiossensíveis do corpo humano. São compostos, fundamentalmente, por fantomas computacionais, algoritmos simuladores de fontes radioativas e de um código Monte Carlo para simular o transporte e a interação da radiação com a matéria. Características do fantoma tais como anatomia, postura, massa corporal e estatura devem representar do modo mais realista possível a situação de exposição as radiações ionizantes para que os dados obtidos na simulação sejam mais fidedignos. Para tanto, os fantomas BREP (Boundary Representation) apresentam algumas vantagens quando comparados a outros tipos de fantomas, entre as quais a liberdade para modificações, além da precisão em representar a anatomia humana. Este trabalho teve por objetivo adaptar o fantoma BREP MARTIN (Male Adult with Macro Circulation and Lymphatic Vessels Phantom) para reproduzir de forma realista o momento em que o indivíduo ocupacionalmente exposto (IOE) faz a administração de radiofármacos (RF) via endovenosa em pacientes do setor de medicina nuclear (MN).
