O Craqueamento Catalítico Fluido (FCC) é um processo usado na indústria petroquímica para converter algumas frações de petróleo que são mais pesadas em frações mais leves, como gasolina e GLP, por exemplo. A conversão ocorre devido à introdução de secas denominadas catalisadoras no interior de risers industriais da FCC. O catalisador aquecido entra em contato com o óleo líquido à base do riser, promovendo a vaporização e a criação de vapores de hidrocarbonetos que compõem o óleo. Os padrões físicos e o fluxo de exibição, na maioria das vezes, são usados por meio de uso de técnicas não intrusivas, envolvendo tomografia por transmissão gama, que possui uma vantagem de não pertencer ao sistema. Este estudo teve por objetivo caracterizar a morfologia,composição química e densidade aparente do catalisador da FCC sem status ativado, bem como, avaliar o coeficiente de atenuação linear e mássico através de simulações sem código MCNPX e irradiação experimental usando fontes radioativas de césio-137 e americano-241 e com seleção extra selecionada do XCOM para o NIST. Os dados de saída das simulações e experimentos foram introduzidos na equação deLambert de cerveja , aqui adaptado para uma equação linear reduzida uma repetição, onde foi aplicado ou coeficiente de determinação como fator de ajuste, que atestou ou teve bom funcionamento do modelo analisado.
Como medições não intrusivas de transmissão de raios gama, uma contribuição significativa para os modelos de estrutura de fluxo que descrevem o sistema FCC riser multifásico. O leito fluidizado circulante (CFB) em unidades de piloto de frio são instalações bem-vindas para análises de parâmetros. Abordagem do modelo em duas fases para estudos de fluidos, considerando o estado estacionário em condições operacionais. Uma caracterização de fluxo por equações semi-empíricas de literatura e simulações de CFD é realizada na estimativa de fluxo de fluxo ativado pela validação de raios gama por CT. Neste trabalho, uma simulação de Monte Carlo de experimentos de CFD com variação de raios gama oferece uma ampla gama de investigação de fluxo em duas fases.Métodos computacionais são desenvolvidos para interface de geometria e funções dinâmicas que descrevem o fluxo circulante. Como as etapas de implementação do software convertido como as variações de núcleos em graus de imagens correspondentes à densidade do sólido. Portanto, o fluxo básico nas simulações de CFD foi importado pela geometria MCNPX. Uma simulação tomográfica de Monte Carlo de três alturas de subida de 0,65 m, 1,38 me 3,42 m, produz frações volumétricas de 0,038, 0,013 e 0,004 para uma distribuição radial contínua. Ao longo dos últimos anos, diversos materiais utilizados em alvenaria, tais como o chumbo, concreto, blocos cerâmicos e tijolo, têm sido estudados para utilização como blindagem contra as radiações ionizantes de diferentes energias em instalações radioativas. Na área de radiodiagnóstico, o chumbo e a barita são os materiais mais utilizados como blindagem, porém para feixes de radiação X de baixa energia, como em mamografia e odontologia, o material gesso pode ser empregado, como afirma o Conselho Nacional sobre Proteção Radiológica e Medidas (National Council on Radiation Protection & Measurements) por meio do seu relatório de número 147 (NCRP Report Nº 147). Esse trabalho desenvolveu materiais de gesso e também de mistura gesso e barita com formatos de placas com área de 10 x 10 centímetros, tendo como objetivo caracterizar físico-quimicamente e verificar a viabilidade do uso desses materiais como blindagem contra a radiação X de baixas energias, utilizando-se de feixes de raios X mamográficos padronizados em laboratórios de metrologia. A partir da irradiação foi possível obter as curvas de transmissão, determinar as camadas semirredutoras (CSR) e decirredutoras (CDR), bem como adquirir os diferentes espectros para cada material. O material de mistura gesso e barita teve uma melhor resposta de blindagem em relação ao material de gesso puro, contudo ambos podem ser considerados como bons atenuadores contra a radiação X de baixas energias.
