Introdução: A astronomia é uma das ciências mais antigas e influenciou diversas atividades, tornando-se, ao longo do tempo, uma das ciências mais importantes para o ser humano. Devido a isso, a necessidade de fabricar instrumentos precisos foi se tornando essencial para medir com maior exatidão o movimento dos astros. Entretanto, apesar desta destacada importância histórica, atualmente grande parte das escolas de Ensino Básico não possui propostas de utilização de telescópios, quer seja por falta de equipamentos quer seja por falta de preparo docente. Na tentativa de mitigar esse problema, o Laboratório de Ensino e Pesquisa em Astronomia da Universidade Estadual do Ceará tem realizado atividades de extensão que levam às escolas seminários de astronomia e observações astronômicas. Metodologia: Neste sentido, o presente trabalho objetiva apresentar a experiência de uma dessas atividades na qual foi realizado um seminário sobre o Sol seguido de uma observação desse astro com utilização de telescópio. Resultados: Este relato de experiência foi construído a partir das descrições da sequência didática do seminário e da observação do comportamento dos alunos e de seu interesse na observação astronômica. No seminário, foram abordados, de forma considerada adequada à exposição para o Ensino Básico, os temas medidas astronômicas, Sistema Solar e características e estrutura do Sol. A prática de observação foi realizada com telescópio newtoniano equipado com filtro solar. Destaca-se que foi possível observar manchas solares. Conclusões: A grande maioria dos alunos manifestou surpresa ao observar a cor branca do Sol e as manchas solares, mesmo tendo sido isso mencionado no seminário. Considera-se que práticas como a apresentada neste trabalho são muito importantes para aumentar o interesse dos alunos nos temas abordados. Além disso, como a astronomia tem caráter fortemente interdisciplinar, é possível utilizar-se desse interesse para fomentar a aprendizagem de outras áreas de conhecimento.
Um aglomerado estelar pode ser compreendido como um grupo de estrelas, com sua distribuição sendo de forma irregular ou organizada. Por vezes, os aglomerados são também regiões propícias para a formação de novas estrelas. Esses aglomerados são grandes nuvens moleculares que podem ter de 10 4 a 10 6 massas solares e são classificados, de acordo com sua distribuição, em abertos ou globulares. A caracterização de um aglomerado é importante para estimar a quantidade de estrelas e a classificação das mesmas. Logo, o presente trabalho objetivou caracterizar o aglomerado M67, que foi escolhido por ser um aglomerado aberto antigo, além de ser facilmente localizável em α-Câncer. METODOLOGIA: Desta forma, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica por meio de repositórios acadêmicos, seguindo os parâmetros de composição principal, quantidade de estrelas e suas características. RESULTADOS: Assim, o aglomerado M67 é do tipo Aberto, e que, mesmo assim, contém estrelas muito antigas, sendo considerado o terceiro aglomerado mais antigo (de acordo com o diagrama HR). Com relação a sua população estelar, o M67 possui 200 estrelas anãs, 11 gigantes vermelhas de classe espectral K com magnitude absoluta no intervalo de +0,5 a +1,5 e muitas estrelas localizadas no ramo horizontal além de estrelas azuis de classe espectral B8 ou B9 e de magnitude aparente 10conhecidas como Blue Stragglers -e mais 100 estrelas da sequência principal, com características semelhantes ao Sol e um percentual de 38% para sistemas binários. Ademais, possui uma metalicidade próxima a da solar, com medidas recentes de [Fe / H] apontando valores entre -0,10 e +0,05. CONCLUSÃO: Portanto, os dados apontam que, mesmo que o M67 seja um tipo Aberto, possui estrelas antigas, o que o torna um aglomerado intrigante devido a característica dos aglomerados abertos abrigarem estrelas jovens e quentes. para chegar à Ásia. Além disso, chegaram pela primeira vez a terras então desconhecidas, como a América. Para se localizar no oceano, esses navegantes operavam instrumentos que determinavam as suas coordenadas geográficas a partir da medição da posição dos astros. Porém a imprecisão desses instrumentos era ainda um problema. Neste sentido, o quadrante de Davis foi uma importante invenção para a navegação, pois, consistindo na melhoria de outro instrumento -a balestilha -, tornou-se o instrumento deste tipo mais preciso da época. À vista disso, considera-se que compreender esse instrumento e sua influência para a história da navegação e da astronomia tem grande relevância. OBJETIVOS: Nesta perspectiva, este trabalho tem o objetivo de apresentar o quadrante de Davis, sua estrutura e funcionamento, bem como mostrar sua influência histórica. METODOLOGIA: Para isso, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica em livros e artigos sobre navegação astronômica. RESULTADOS: O quadrante de Davis é o instrumento construído por uma régua de madeira com dois arcos de tamanhos diferentes, colocados em oposição, no mesmo plano, o menor acima e o outro abaixo da régua, dispondo duas abas deslizantes, uma em cada arco, e uma aba fixa na extremidade da régua no lado do arco menor. Desta forma, ele pode ser utilizado para medir a altura de um astro e, com isso, determinar a latitude do observador. Sua utilização possibilitou a medição diurna, posicionando-o de costas para o Sol e utilizando a sua sombra, deslizando o peça solta do arco menor para que sua sombra seja projetada sobre a aba no fim da régua, que fica na direção do horizonte, em linha com o olho e a peça deslizante do arco maior. CONCLUSÃO: O quadrante de Davis é muito pouco utilizado hoje, por conta da evolução tecnológica. Porém, por conta da grande importância para evolução da astronomia e para a história da navegação, considera-se de grande valia seu estudo.
Introdução: Fenômenos Transitórios Lunares, ou Transient Lunar Phenomena (TLPs), são fenômenos que possuem um período curto de duração, manifestando-se na maioria das vezes isoladamente como brilhos repentinos que modificam o solo da Lua em seu aspecto visual. Tais mudanças se enquadram em algumas categorias, tais como brilhantismo, obscurecimento e nuvens. Suas causas são algumas dentre muitas indagações geradas nos estudos do satélite natural da Terra. A Selenografia é a parte da Astronomia que estuda a Lua e, portanto, trata de discutir esses fenômenos, suas ocorrências e análise. O estudo dos TLPs é determinante para que se entenda que no corpo lunar também ocorrem fenômenos diversos, suas causas e a frequência de ocorrência desses eventos. Objetivo: Este trabalho objetivou apresentar uma análise acerca da ocorrência desses fenômenos, com o intuito de expor tais fenômenos. Metodologia: Para isso, realizou-se pesquisa bibliográfica sobre o tema TLP norteada pelas evidências desses fenômenos e suas classificações. Resultados: Boa parte dos TLPs relatados na literatura são ocasionados por impactos de meteoros na superfície lunar. Isto se deve ao fato que Lua é constantemente bombardeada por esses objetos, já que ela não possui atmosfera em quantidade suficiente para desacelerá-los. Por conta disso, os impactos são mais intensos e podem, em alguns casos, gerar brilhantismos. Conclusão: Aponta-se que fenômenos transitórios com essas características ocorrem com certa frequência. Um exemplo recente foi a queda de um meteoro no dia 23 de fevereiro de 2023 próximo da cratera Tycho durante um eclipse lunar. Este TLP foi filmado no Japão e evidencia a hipótese que brilhantismos são causados por esse tipo de impacto.
