RESUMOO estímulo e o desenvolvimento em todas as dimensões são fundamentais para o ser humano, principalmente quando criança, no início de seu descobrimento cognitivo. Essa relação com o meio exterior se dá através de diferentes formas, aguçando os sentidos da visão, audição, e do prazer em descobrir, através do toque e do tato. Sendo assim, o acesso de crianças em idade pré-escolar e escolar, a um programa de movimentos efetivos e bem planejado, garante que seu desenvolvimento motor seja facilitado nos anos posteriores. Para tanto, é necessário um acúmulo considerável de experiências, de conhecimento e domínio sobre o corpo, sobre o meio em que está inserido e suas relações, ou seja, a aprendizagem motora é vista como o desenvolvimento e amadurecimento de aspectos funcionais estimulados a priori, pelo ambiente no qual o indivíduo está inserido. O presente trabalho objetivou uma compreensão da relação desenvolvida entre coordenação motora global e o cognitivo infantil, além do enfoque dos meios necessários para um bom desenvolvimento motor, possíveis ações e interferências, e o que pode favorecer e/ou desfavorecer o desenvolvimento motor atrelado ao cognitivo. Por meio da revisão dos conceitos do desenvolvimento motor e cognitivo, à cerca de sua importância, conclui-se que existe a necessidade do desenvolvimento de mais estudos neste contexto, além de um aprofundamento quanto à formação de professores, visando um maior domínio de sua prática formativa integral. Observouse também, que a relação entre pais, familiares e fatores ambientais ajudam na aquisição e incentivo dessas habilidades, pois quanto mais precocemente a coordenação motora for estimulada, melhor será o desenvolvimento cognitivo da criança.
