A escolha do melhor local para a implantação de um aterro sanitário é, por muitas vezes, uma decisão difícil de ser tomada devido à grande variedade de fatores envolvidos. Neste trabalho foram selecionadas as potenciais áreas para a implantação de um aterro sanitário no município de Jundiaí (SP) a partir de uma análise multicritério realizada usando o software ArcGIS. As diversas condicionantes técnicas escolhidas foram ponderadas de acordo com a significância para a escolha do melhor local. Como resultado obteve-se um mapa de áreas graduado em escala de atendimento simultâneo a todos os critérios. A partir de condicionantes de exclusão, um segundo mapa com áreas inadequadas à implantação foi gerado. A área mínima necessária para implantação do aterro foi calculada considerando a longevidade, as características do aterro e a produção diária de resíduos sólidos. Sobrepondo esses resultados, foi possível selecionar a melhor área potencial para a construção do aterro sanitário.
O reuso de subprodutos advindos do tratamento de esgotos sanitários é uma temática que vem crescendo cada vez mais atualmente. Esse trabalho tem como objetivo realizar uma avaliação econômica da reutilização da areia proveniente do tratamento preliminar da Estação de Tratamento de Esgoto do Ribeirão do Onça (ETE Onça). Para isso foram avaliadas as etapas necessárias para esse reuso que seriam: lavagem, secagem, controle de odor e proliferação de vetores e higienização. Para a lavagem utilizou-se um lavador de areia. Na secagem optou-se por utilizar pátios de secagem já construídos na ETE. Para o controle de odor, proliferação de vetores e higienização foi calculada uma adição de cal. Entre os gastos e ganhos advindos da venda da areia estimou-se que a partir do 20º mês a ETE já haveria recuperados os gastos iniciais e ao final de 2 anos conseguiria um lucro total de R$46.259,33.
Resumo: O presente trabalho tem como objetivo principal apresentar propostas de readequações da Estação de Tratamento de Esgoto do Onça (ETE Onça), localizada em Belo Horizonte, a fim de promover otimizações sustentáveis. Como metodologia adotou-se a realização de um diagnóstico operacional do sistema de tratamento, através de uma visita orientada às instalações da ETE e do redimensionamento das unidades de tratamento secundário da estação. A partir do diagnóstico operacional, aproveitando da infraestrutura já existente na ETE, propôs-se três modificações na ETE: aproveitamento do biogás; incorporação da escuma ao lodo gerado pelos filtros biológicos e utilização do lodo secundário para fins agrícolas. Ao fim, concluiu-se que essas modificações, além de tornar a ETE mais sustentável, sob a perspectiva de economia circular, poderiam trazer retornos financeiros significativos à mesma.
