The paper discusses the expression of the auxilliary in the Swahili variety spoken in the Shaba Province of Zaire (i.e. Lubumbashi Swahili). Initially it describes the morphonological structure of the TAM-system as well as of the negation, goes over to examples from complex syntactic structures and approaches finally the issue of how the data fit the creolization model elaborated by various linguists.
