A transversal descriptive quantitative study, conducted with 50 people with Venous Ulcer (VU) at an University Hospital, that aimed to ascertain the level of psychosocial adaptation of the Roy Model of people with VU. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee. The data were collected with a structured form. After organizing the data, composed of changes in the lives of people with VU, we classified it according to Roy's psychosocial aspects. We found that in the self-concept mode, 36% felt dissatisfied with physical appearance, and 18% had negative feelings; in the role-function mode: change in the working role (52.0%), housework (34.0%), marital (6.0%), leisure, pain, social, educational and transportation restrictions (82.0%); interdependence mode: support in treatment (82.0%), discrimination (58.0%). The identification of the psychosocial aspects directs nursing actions to consider the whole of the person receiving care in its relations with the environment, thus promoting a better level of adaptation.
Objective: to verify changes in the quality of life (QL) of clinic patients with venous ulcers (VU) in the clinic of a University Hospital in Natal city/RN, Northeast of Brazil. Method: this is about a cross-sectional, descriptive study, from quantitative approach, conducted with 50 patients with VU treated at the vascular clinic of a university hospital in Natal / RN. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the UFRN (No. 279/09). Data collection was performed in two months by implementing means of a structured form concerning data of socio-demographic, health, clinical and care of the patient. The data were categorized in the Microsoft Excel and processed by SPSS 15.0 by descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: the respondents have experienced discrimination of society, showed changes in quality of life after the occurrence of ulcer in relation to leisure and pain; social restriction; education and transportation; employment restrictions, financial and social progression; physical appearance and discrimination; restriction of home activity. By comparing these changes with the time of injury, it was observed that the time of injury influences the change in QL (ρ = 0.000). Conclusion: Identified that several socio-demographic factors, clinical and care are influenced by UV, reflecting on the QL of patients. Thus, denoting that the more chronic the injury is more negative changes occur in their QL. Método: estudo transversal, descritivo, quantitativo, realizado com 50 portadores de UV atendidos no ambulatório de angiologia de um hospital universitário em Natal/RN. Obteve parecer favorável do Comitê de Ética da UFRN (nº 279/09). A coleta de dados foi realizada em dois meses, através da aplicação de formulário estruturado contendo dados sócio-demográficas, de saúde, clínicas e assistenciais do paciente. Os dados foram categorizados no Microsoft Excel e processados no SPSS 15.0 através de estatística descritiva e inferencial. Resultados: os pesquisados sofreram discriminação da sociedade, apresentaram mudanças na qualidade de vida após o surgimento da úlcera em relação ao lazer e dor; restrição social, escolar e de locomoção; restrição laboral, financeira e de progressão social; aparência física e discriminação; restrição de atividade doméstica. Ao comparar essas mudanças com o tempo de lesão, observou-se que o este influencia na mudança da QV (ρ=0,000). Conclusão: identificou-se que diversos fatores sócio-demográficos, clínicos e assistenciais sofrem influência da UV, refletindo na QV dos pacientes. Dessa forma, denota-se que quanto mais crônica for a lesão mais mudanças negativas ocorrerão em sua QV. Método: estudio transversal, descriptivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, realizado con 50 pacientes portadores de UV atendidos en el sector de angiología en un hospital universitario en Natal/RN. Fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética de la UFRN (N º 279/09). La colección de datos se realizó en dos meses mediante la aplicación de un formulario estructurado sobre datos socio-demográficos, de salud, atención clínica y del paciente. Los datos fueron categorizados en Microsoft Excel y procesados utilizando el paquete estadístico SPSS 15.0 por estadística descriptiva y inferencial. Resultados: los encuestados sufren discriminación de la sociedad, revelando cambios en la calidad de vida después de la aparición de la úlcera en relación con el ocio y dolor; restricción social, escuela, locomoción; restricción de empleo, financiera y progresión social; apariencia física; discriminación y la restricción de las tareas domésticas. Al comparar estos cambios con el tiempo de la lesión, se observó que el momento de la lesión influye en el cambio de la calidad de vida (ρ = 0,000). Conclusión: se identificaron que varios factores socio-demográficos, clínicos y de la asistencia que están influenciados por las úlceras venosas, que reflejan la calidad de vida de los pacientes. Objective: to characterize the protocols used in the news regarding assistance to patients with venous ulcers published in electronic databases. Methodology: this is about a descriptive exploratory study from retrospective data and quantitative approach, held in October/2009 through structured form, including: a database of BIREME/BVS (LILACS, MEDLINE, SciELO and BDENF), PubMed, ISI Web of Knowledge and Hirewire Press, year of publication (2000 to September 2009), type of research, the hierarchy of evidence, how to approach, language, country, focus and scope of the protocol. Found 14 full papers, 11 in SCIELO and 3 in ISI Web of Knowledge. Results: the predominant descriptive study (57.1%), with a quantitative approach (85.7%), validity of C (low) reliability and valid (78.5%) in the years 2007 (35.7%) and 2006 (28.6%), in Portuguese (57.1%), Brazil (78.6%) and the United States of America (21.4%) on evaluation of the lesion (28.6%) and topical (21.4%) and hospital coverage (92.9%). Conclusion: although the studies addressing important aspects of the use of protocols, the work failed to conceive the need for payment of guidelines and recommendations concerning the evaluation of the patient, the lesion, treatment and coverage available to improve patient care, prevent recurrences and improve the quality of life. Metodologia: estudo exploratório descritivo com dados retrospectivos e abordagem quantitativa, realizada em outubro/2009 pro meio de formulário estruturado, incluindo: base de dados da BVS/BIREME (LILACS, MEDLINE, SCIELO, BDENF), PubMed, ISI Web of Knowledge e Hirewire Press, ano de publicação (2000 a setembro de 2009), tipo de pesquisa, hierarquia da evidência, forma de abordagem, idioma, país, enfoque e abrangência do protocolo. Foram encontrados 14 artigos completos sendo 11 na SCIELO e 3 no ISI Web of Knowledge. Resultados: predominaram o estudo descritivo (57,1%), com abordagem quantitativa (85,7%), de validade C (baixa) e confiabilidade válida (78,5%), nos anos de 2007 (35,7%) e 2006 (28,6%), em português (57,1%), no Brasil (78,6%) e Estados Unidos da América (21,4%), sobre avaliação da lesão (28,6%) e tratamento tópico (21,4%) e de abrangência hospitalar (92,9%). Conclusão: apesar dos estudos tratarem de aspectos importantes da utilização de protocolos, os trabalhos deixaram de conceber a necessidade de integralização de diretrizes e recomendações que dizem respeito a avaliação do portador, da lesão, tratamento e coberturas disponíveis para melhorar a assistência a esses pacientes, prevenir recidivas e melhorar a qualidade de vida. RESUMENObjetivo: caracterizar los protocolos utilizados en las noticias relativas a la asistencia a los pacientes con úlceras venosas publicados en bases de datos electrónicas. Metodologia: estudio descriptivo exploratorio con datos retrospectivos y un enfoque cuantitativo, que se celebró en Octubre/2009 a través de formulario estructurado, que incluyen: una base de datos de la BVS / BIREME (LILACS, MEDLINE, SciELO y BDENF), PubMed, ISI Web of Knowledge y Hirewire Prensa , año de publicación (2000 a septiembre de 2009), el tipo de investigación, la jerarquía de la evidencia, la forma de enfoque, de idioma, país, el enfoque y el alcance del protocolo. Se han encontrado 14 artículos completos y 11 en SciELO y 3 en el ISI Web of Knowledge. Resultados: el estudio descriptivo predominante (57,1%), con un enfoque cuantitativo (85,7%), la validez de C (bajo), la fiabilidad y validez (78,5%) en los años 2007 (35,7%) y la de 2006 (28,6%), en portugués (57,1%), Brasil (78,6%) y los Estados Unidos de América (21,4%) en la evaluación de la lesión (28,6%) y de actualidad (21,4%) y la cobertura hospitalaria (92,9%). Conclusión: aunque los estudios que abordan aspectos importantes de la utilización de protocolos, el trabajo no se concibe la necesidad del pago de las directrices y recomendaciones relativas a la evaluación del paciente, la lesión, el tratamiento y la cobertura disponibles para mejorar la atención al paciente, prevenir las recidivas y mejorar la calidad de vida. Objective: identify in the Brazilian scientific literature, the utilization of the SF-36 in assessing the quality of life related to chronic diseases. Method: this is a literature systematic review study, conducted in October 2009, in the databases of BIREME using the descriptors quality of life (QL) and chronic diseases, being selected one study in BDENF and three in LILACS. In the database Google Scholar were selected 20, using as descriptors quality of life, chronic diseases and SF-36. Inclusion criteria were: studies published from 2004 to 2009, held in Brazil, available in full text and free access. The results will be presented in table form. Results: of the 24 items surveyed, 83.3% were located in Scholar Google, 12.5% in LILACS and 4.2% in BDENF. Articles predominated (79.2%) in the year 2008 (29.2%), the journal of Arquivos de Neuropsiquiatria was the most raised the issue (16.7%), chronic illness was the most discussed renal chronic disease. Conclusion: the SF-36, despite being a tool to evaluate changes in QL in the last 4 weeks has been applied to diseases with chronic obtaining satisfactory results. Método: revisão de literatura realizada em outubro de 2009, nas bases de dados da BIREME utilizando os descritores qualidade de vida (QV) e doenças crônicas, sendo selecionado um estudo na BDENF e três na LILACS. Na base de dados Google Acadêmico foram selecionados 20 estudos, usando como descritores qualidade de vida, doenças crônicas e SF-36. Os critérios de inclusão foram: estudos publicados no período de 2004 a 2009, realizados no Brasil, disponível em texto completo e de acesso livre. Os resultados serão apresentados em forma de tabela. Resultados: dos 24 artigos pesquisados, 83,3% estava localizado no Google acadêmico, 12,5% no LILACS e 4,2% na BDENF. Predominaram artigos (79,2%), no ano de 2008 (29,2%); o periódico Arquivos de Neuropsiquiatria foi o que mais abordou o tema (16,7%), a doença crônica mais abordada foi a insuficiência renal crônica (29,2%) e quanto a aplicabilidade, a maioria (58,3%) não relatou dificuldades. Conclusão: o SF-36, apesar de ser um instrumento que avalie as alterações na QV nas últimas 4 semanas tem sido aplicado para doenças com caráter crônico obtendo resultados satisfatórios. Los criterios de inclusión fueron: estudios publicados desde 2004 hasta 2009, realizada en Brasil, disponible en texto completo y acceso libre. Los resultados se presentan en forma tabular. Resultados: de los 24 artículos de la encuesta, 83,3% estaban localizados en Google Académico, un 12,5% en LILACS y 4,2% en BDENF. Predominaron artículos (79,2%) en el año 2008 (29,2%), en la revista Arquivos de Neuropsiquiatria (16,7%), la enfermedad crónica más abordada fue la insuficiencia renal crónica (29, 2%) y cuanto la aplicabilidad, la mayoría (58,3%) no informaron dificultades. Conclusión: el SF-36, a pesar de ser una herramienta para evaluar los cambios en la calidad de vida en las últimas 4 semanas ha sido aplicado a las enfermedades crónicas con la obtención de resultados satisfactorios. Objective: to characterize sociodemographic patients with venous ulcers (UV) participating in a study developed at University Hospital, Natal/RN. Methodology: this is an analytical study of therapeutic intervention intra-group, not randomized, with 18 patients performed with UV outpatient clinic of Angiology from a university hospital in Natal/RN. Data collection was performed in four months, through a survey instrument consisting of a structured interview applied in the patient's admission to the study and an observation script checks implemented in the ten checks subsequent admission following the categorization in Microsoft Excel and processed using the SPSS 15.0 by descriptive statistics. This study has been approved by the Ethics and Research/CEP HUOL UFRN (nº 276/09). Results: identified himself a predominance among patients with UV female (88.9%), equality in the two age ranges, mostly with low education (83.3%) and low family income (77.8%), with any profession (94,4%), and for the current occupation most patients were retired or unemployed (55.6%). Conclusion: it was noticed a trend of emergence of UV, in females, with socio-economic conditions unfavorable and with low education. Metodologia: trata-se de um estudo analítico de intervenção, do tipo terapêutico, não randomizado intragrupo, realizado com 18 portadores de UV atendidos no ambulatório de angiologia de um hospital universitário em Natal/RN. A coleta de dados foi realizada em quatro meses, por meio de um instrumento de pesquisa composto por um roteiro de entrevista aplicado na admissão do paciente ao estudo e um roteiro de observação implementado nas dez verificações subsequentes à admissão. Os dados foram categorizados no Microsoft Excel e processados no SPSS 15.0 pela estatística descritiva, após parecer favorável do Comitê de Ética e Pesquisa/CEP do HUOL/UFRN (nº 276/09). Resultados: identificou-se predominância entre os portadores de UV pesquisados, do sexo feminino (88,9%), igualdade quanto às duas faixas etárias consideradas, em sua maioria, com baixa escolaridade (83,3%) e baixa renda familiar (77,8%), como também tinham alguma profissão (94,4%) e quanto à ocupação atual a maioria encontrava-se aposentado/desempregado (55,6%). Conclusão: percebeu-se uma tendência de surgimento de UV, no sexo feminino, com condições sócio-econômicas desfavoráveis e com baixo nível de escolaridade. Los datos fueron recolectados en cuatro meses mediante una encuesta que consiste en una entrevista estructurada al ingreso en el estudio y una guía de observación. Los datos fueron categorizados en Microsoft Excel y procesados utilizando el paquete estadístico SPSS 15.0 por estadística descriptiva e inferencial depues de la aprobación por el Comité de Ética de la Universidad Federal del Rio Grande do Norte/UFRN. Resultados: la prevalencia en los pacientes con UV encuestados fueron de mujeres (88,9%), igual en los dos niveles de edad considerados, en su mayoría con bajo nivel educativo (83,3%) y de bajos ingresos (77,8%), (94, 4%) tuvieron alguna ocupación y la ocupación actual de la mayoría de los pacientes estaban jubilados o desempleados (55,6%). Conclusión: se observó una tendencia de aparición de UV en las mujeres, con las condiciones socio-económicas desfavorables y con bajo nivel educativo.
