In this way aimed at evaluating the potential of ten aqueous extracts on t he in vitro d evelopm ent of phyt opa thogeni c fu ngi . Were conducted six experimental trials in a completely randomized design with 11 treatments and 10 replications for each assay. The treatments consisted of crude aqueous extracts of garlic, rue, cinnamon, clove, horsetail, eucalyptus, mint, jabuticaba, melon-of-são-caetano and neem in the concentration of 20%, more the control treatment (only PDA). The trials were carried out with the fungus Aspergillus sp., Penicillium sp., Cercospora kikuchii, Colletotrichum sp., Fusarium solani and Phomopsis sp. The extracts were filtered in paper wathman nº 1, put in the water bath at 65ºC for 1 hour, incorporated in PDA medium and after poured into Petri dishes, transferred to mycelial discs of pathogens (0.3 cm of diameter). Was determined the mycelial growth of the colony, the percentage of inhibition and the rate of growth of fungi. It was observed that the PDA medium containing the extracts of clove, garlic and cinnamon showed most antifungal activity on the plant pathogens, when compared to other extracts used, highlighting for the extract of clove, which inhibited the development of all pathogens tested. sp., Cercospora kikuchii, Colletotrichum sp., Fusarium solani e Phomopsis sp. Foi analisado o crescimento micelial da colônia, a porcentagem de inibição e a taxa de crescimento dos fungos. The dynamics of Heterodera glycines spatial patterns were studied under different tillage systems in two naturally infested soybean fields in Iowa from 1994 to 1997. At each location, there were four different tillage treatments (conventional tillage, reduced tillage, ridge tillage, and no tillage). Soil samples were taken from 98 contiguous quadrats (5.2 m(2)) per plot in the fall of 1994, before any tillage was performed, and in the spring of the following 3 years shortly after planting. Cysts were extracted from soil samples by elutriation and counted, and eggs were extracted from cysts and enumerated. Spatial patterns of H. glycines populations were characterized by geostatistical analysis and variance-to-mean (VM) ratios. Semivariance values were calculated for cyst and egg densities and semivariograms were constructed. In general, there was greater spatial dependence among cyst populations than egg populations. In one field with a strongly aggregated initial H. glycines population, tillage practices resulted in changes in spatial patterns of H. glycines populations, characterized by spherical-model semivariogram parameters (sill, nugget effect, and range of spatial dependence). These parameters indicated increasing aggregation over time in no tillage and ridge tillage treatments, but decreasing aggregation in reduced and conventional tillage treatments. There was an increase of 350% in sill values (maximum semivariance) for cyst populations after 3 years of no tillage, but in the conventional tillage treatment, sill values remained unchanged or decreased over time as tillage was implemented. Semivariograms for cyst and egg population densities revealed strong anisotropy (directional spatial dependence) along soybean rows, coincident with the direction of tillage practices. VM ratios for cyst counts increased each year in the no tillage and ridge tillage treatments, but decreased for 2 years in reduced tillage and conventional tillage treatments. Final VM ratios for cyst and egg counts were highest in the no tillage treatment. In a second field, with low initial aggregation of H. glycines populations, there was little measurable change in semivariogram parameters after 3 years of no tillage, but in the conventional tillage treatment, populations became less aggregated, as the range, sill, and the proportion of the sill explained by spatial dependence decreased for cyst population densities. Our results indicated that in soybean fields with initially aggregated populations of H. glycines, no tillage and ridge tillage systems promoted aggregation of the nematode population, whereas conventional and reduced tillage systems resulted in a less aggregated spatial pattern.

Na cultura do milho, as podridões de espigas causadas por fungos destacam-se por resultarem em perdas na produção e na qualidade dos grãos colhidos, principalmente devido à formação de "grãos ardidos". Além desta deterioração, que ocasiona perda nutricional, alguns fungos podem provocar contaminação, pela produção de micotoxinas. Este estudo objetivou avaliar a influência da aplicação do fungicida azoxistrobina + ciproconazol via foliar e de épocas de aplicação na presença de fungos, em grãos colhidos de três híbridos, em duas épocas de semeadura (safra de verão e safrinha). Foram realizados ensaios de campo, dispostos em delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com tratamentos constituindo-se da combinação de épocas de semeadura x híbridos x épocas de aplicação (2x3x5). As aplicações dos fungicidas foram realizadas nos estádios V8, V8 + pré-pendoamento, pré-pendoamento e R1, mais uma testemunha sem aplicação. Realizou-se a colheita manual das parcelas, e amostras de grãos de cada parcela foram submetidas à análise de qualidade sanitária, pelo método do papel filtro (Blotter test), com congelamento. A realização de duas aplicações (V8 + pré-pendoamento), via foliar, do fungicida azoxistrobina + ciproconazol (300,0 mL ha-1 + 0,5% de óleo mineral), ou uma aplicação em pré-pendoamento, resultou em menor incidência do fungo Fusarium sp., nos grãos colhidos nas duas épocas de semeadura.

Resumo -A ferrugem asiática é a principal doença na cultura da soja. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de fungicidas à base de estrobilurina + triazol aplicados em diferentes momentos, na detecção e após a detecção da ferrugem asiática na área experimental. A segunda aplicação três semanas após a primeira. Os experimentos foram conduzidos nas safras 2006/07, 2008/09, 2009/10 e 2010/11, em Dourados -MS. A doença foi quantificada, avaliando a área foliar lesionada, o número de lesões e urédias por folíolo de cada terço da planta foram avaliados. A partir destes dados calculou-se a área abaixo da curva de progresso de lesões e urédias (AACPD). Foram avaliados também produtividade, massa de mil grãos e desfolha. Todos os ensaios foram conduzidos no delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com cinco repetições, exceto o realizado na safra 2006/07 com seis repetições. Nas quatro safras, aplicações de fungicidas, independente da época resultou em menores quantidades de doença em relação a testemunha, nos terços médio e inferior. Na safra 2008/09 não foi detectado efeito do fungicida sobre a produtividade. Em 2006Em /2007Em , 2008/09 e 2009/10, parcelas que receberam fungicida apresentaram menor porcentagem de desfolha. Na safra 2010/11, a aplicação na detecção da doença apresentou incremento na produtividade. O controle mais eficaz da doença ocorreu quando a primeira aplicação de fungicidas foi realizada mais próxima da detecção do patógeno na área. Our objective was to evaluate the effect of the strobilurin + triazole fungicides applied at and after pathogen detection in the experimental area. A second fungicide spray was done three weeks later. The experiments were carried out in, 2008/09, 2009/10 and 2010/11 crop seasons. The experiments were carried out in a randomized block design, with five replications. In the four crop seasons, disease levels were negatively affected by fungicide sprays, regardless of the application time. In 2009/10 crop season fungicide did not affect crop yield. The efficacy of chemical control was greater as the first fungicide was sprayed closer to the pathogen detection. No início da doença são observadas pequenas lesões de coloração castanho. Two soybean cultivars, one conventional and a glyphosate-tolerant (transgenic), were submitted to the water stress and the chlorophyll a fluorescence induced by UV light was monitored daily during 16 days. In this work, 40 pots in total, 20 per cultivar were used in the investigation. Each cultivar was divided in two groups, the control group and the group submitted to the water stress. The stress response of the cultivars was monitored by red to far-red fluorescence ratio. The data indicate that the water stress induced the earliest changes on the fluorescence ratio and chlorophyll content for the conventional cultivar. In addition, a comparative analysis of the fluorescence ratios of the cultivars reveals that conventional plants have higher chlorophyll content than transgenic ones. This result might be useful in the development of methodologies able to distinguish conventional to transgenic apart.

RESUMO: O uso de extratos e óleos essenciais de plantas medicinais tem sido amplamente estudado no controle de doenças de plantas. O objetivo da realização do presente trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de extratos de Ruta graveolens L., Mentha x villosa, Calendula officinalis L., Momordica charantia L., Symphytum officinale L., Ageratum conyzoides L. e Ricinus comunis L., nas concentrações de 0, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 e 10000 mg L -1 , sobre a inibição do crescimento micelial de Cercospora calendulae Sacc. in vitro. Os extratos foram obtidos por infusão. O experimento foi desenvolvido no Laboratório de Fitopatologia da FCA/UFGD, estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, esquema fatorial 7 extratos x 7 concentrações, com seis repetições. Foi detectado efeito dos extratos e suas concentrações sobre o crescimento do fungo, sendo a interação significativa. Os extratos de calêndula, arruda, hortelã e melão de São Caetano, nas maiores concentrações resultaram em maiores porcentagens de inibição, próximas de 100%, 30%, 35% e 40%, respectivamente, a 10000 mg L -1 .Palavras-chave: mancha foliar, extratos aquosos, Calendula officinalis L.ABSTRACT: Inhibition of the mycelial growth of Cercospora calendulae Sacc. by medicinal plants extracts. The experimental design was totally randomized, with a factorial arrangement of 7 extracts x 7 concentrations, with six repetitions. We detected the effect of the extracts and their concentrations on the growth of the fungus, with a significant interaction between the factor extracts and the concentration. Calendula officinalis L., Ruta graveolens L., Mentha x villosa and Momordica charantia L. extracts in higher concentration resulted in higher inhibition percentages in the order of 100%, 30%, 35% and 40%, respectively.

According to the obtained results, the addition of mannitol to the PDA medium, at the osmotic potentials -0.3, -0.6 and -0.9 MPa, as well as NaCl, -0.3 and -0.6 MPa, does not limit the mycelial growth of S. sclerotiorum; the solutes used until the osmotic potential -0.9 MPa did not interfere in the germination of soybean seeds. Satisfactory infection levels were obtained with 24 hours of incubation in culture medium with water restriction. The viability of both the seeds and the pathogen is maintained after the storage of seeds inoculated in medium with water restriction.
