(PPh4)2[Mn(N3)4] bzw. (PPh4)2[Co(N3)3Cl] entstehen in Form hellbrauner (Mn) bzw. grünblauer (Co), wenig feuchtigkeitsempfindlicher, nichtexplosiver Kristalle durch Umsetzung der Tetrachlorometallate (PPh4)2[MCl4] mit überschüssigem Silberazid in Dichlormethan. Die Verbindungen werden durch ihre IR‐Spektren und durch röntgenorgraphische Strukturanalysen charakterisiert. Beide Verbindungen kristallisieren monoklin in der Raumgruppe C2/c, Z = 4, sie sind jedoch nicht isotyp. (PPh4)2[Mn(N3)4]: Strukturbestimmung mit 711 unabhängigen beobachtten Reflexen, R = 9,7%. Gitterkonstanten: a = 2249,1; b = 1499,6; c = 1370,3 pm; β = 104,86°. (PPh4)2[Co(N3)3Cl]: Strukturbestimmung mit 2753 unabhängigen beobachteten Reflexen, R = 7,5%. Gitterkonstanten: a = 1119,7; b = 1899,2; c = 2115,4 pm; β = 90,47°. Die Strukturen bestehen aus PPh4⊕‐ Ionen und aus Anionen, die sich auf kristallographischen zweizähligen Drehachsen befinden. Die Anionen sind je auf zwei Positionen mit halber Besetzungswahrscheinlichkeit fehlgeordnet; beim [Co(N3)3Cl]2‐Ion überlagert sich das Chloratom statistisch mit einer Azidogruppe, beim [Mn(N3)4]2‐Ion ist das Ion um etwa 20° aus der Ideallage statistisch nach zwei Seiten der Drehachse gekippt. In beiden Verbindungen bilden die Kationen Schichten, zwischen denen sich die Anionen befinden.
VNCl2(Pyridin)2 entsteht aus dem Cyclothiazeno‐Vanadium(IV) ‐Komplex [VCl(N3S2)(Pyridin)2]2 · 2 CH2Cl2 in siedendem Toluol in Form rotbrauner, feuchtigkeitsempfindlicher Kristalle, die wir IR‐spektroskopisch und durch eine rötgenographische Strukturanalyse charakterisiert haben. VNCl2(Pyridin) 2 kristallisiert orthorhombisch in der Raumgruppe Pccn mit vier Formeleinheiten pro Elementarzelle (668 unabhängige beobachtete Reflexe, R = 5,5%). Die Gitterkonstanten sind a = 1550, b = 924, c = 832 pm. Die Verbindung bildet monomere Moleküle der Symmetrie C2, die entlang der VN‐Achse zu Säulen VN… V gestapelt sind. Der kurze VN‐Abstand von 160 pm entspricht etwa einer Dreifachbindung, der lange V…N‐Abstand von 256 pm deutet auf eine nur schwache Wechselwirkung hin. Die Bindungslängen VN (Pyridin) und VCl betragen 213,0 bzw. 233,5 pm.
S5N5[GaCl4] entsteht in guter Ausbeute aus Gallium und Trithiazylchlorid in Dichlormethan neben S4N4Cl[GaCl4], bzw. in Tetrachlorkohlenstoff neben S3N2Cl[GaCl4]. Die Begleitprodukte können wegen ihrer guten Löslichkeit in CH2Cl2 von dem schwerlöslichen S5N5[GaCl4] abgetrennt werden. S3N2Cl[GaCl4] kann mit weiterem (NSCl)3 zu S5N5[GaCl4] umgewandelt werden. Durch Einwirkung von GaCl3 auf S5N5[GaCl4] entsteht das in CH2Cl2 leicht lösliche S5N5[Ga2Cl7]. Die IR‐Spektren der Titelverbindungen werden mitgeteilt; Anzahl und Frequenzlagen der Kationenbanden unterscheiden sich deutlich und zeigen, daß das S5N5⊕‐Ion je nach Anion unterschiedliche Struktur hat. Die Kristallstrukturen beider Verbindungen wurden mit Hilfe der Röntgenbeugung aufgeklärt. Kristalldaten: S5N5[GaCl4], rhombisch, a = 943,8, b = 1369,0, c = 2068,8 pm, Raumgruppe Pnma, Z = 8 (1381 beobachtete Reflexe, R = 7,5%); S5N5[Ga2Cl7], monoklin, a = 847,5, b = 1298,2, c = 1654,0 pm, β = 93,51°, Raumgruppe P21/n, Z = 4 (1359 beobachtete Reflexe, R = 6,5%). S5N5[GaCl4] kristallisiert isotyp zum S5N5[AlCl4] und zeigt ein herzförmiges S5N5⊕‐Ion; auffällig große Schwingungsellipsoide sprechen jedoch für das Vorliegen einer statischen oder dynamischen Fehlordnung. Im S5N5[Ga2Cl7] hat das S5N5⊕ eine azulenähnliche Struktur. In beiden Fällen sind die Kationen planar, alle SN‐Bindungsabstände sind etwa gleich lang.
4‐Methyl‐ 1,2,3,5‐dithiadiazolium‐tetrachlorocobaltat‐trichlorid, (CH3CN2S2)5[CoCl4]Cl3, entsteht in Form brauner, feuchtigkeitsempfindlicher Kristalle bei der Einwirkung von Trithiazylchlorid auf eine Lösung von CoCl2 in Acetonitril. Seine Umsetzung mit Tetraphenylarsoniumchlorid in CH2Cl2 führt zur Bildung von schwerlöslichem (AsPh4)2CoCl4 und zu gelben Kristallen von (CH3CN2S2)Cl. Die IR‐Spektren der Titelverbindungen werden mitgeteilt und zugeordnet. (CH3CN2S2)5[CoCl4]Cl3 kristallisiert rhombisch in der Raumgruppe P212121 mit 4 Formeleinheiten pro Elementarzelle (a = 830, b = 1603, c = 2443 pm bei 180 K, Röntgenstrukturbestimmung mit 1787 unabhängigen beobachteten Reflexen, R = 7,0%). (CH3CN2S2)Cl kristallisiert triklin in der Raumgruppe P212121 mit 4 Formeleinheiten pro Elementarzelle (a = 749, b = 819, c = 1015 pm, α = 84,9°, β = 67,4°, γ = 84,6° bei 296 K; 2653 unabhängige, beobachtete Reflexe, R = 4.0%). Beide Verbindungen haben ionischen Aufbau, sie enthalten neben Chloridionen und dem Anion CoCl42−, dessen Tetraeder verzerrt ist, planare 4‐Methyl‐1,2,3,5‐dithiadiazoliumkationen, die recht gut C2v‐Symmetrie erfüllen. In der Struktur von (CH3CN2S2)5[CoCl4]Cl3 liegen fünf symmetrieunabhängige Kationen vor, im (CH3CN2S2)Cl sind es zwei symmetrieunabhängige Kationen, die sich alle nur geringfügig voneinander unterscheiden. Im Gegensatz zu den N‐Atomen haben die Schwefelatome aller Kationen Kontakt zu drei bis fünf Chloratomen, wobei es in der Regel jeweils ein Chloridion gibt, das coplanar zum Kation liegt und zu beiden Schwefelatomen auffällig kurze Abstände aufweist (288 bis 309 pm); die positive Ladung der Kationen muß danach auf die Schwefelatome konzentriert sein.
Rutheniumtrichlorid reagiert mit Trithiazylchlorid in Thionylchlorid unter Bildung von cis‐RuCl4(NS)2. Mit Triphenylmethylphosphoniumchlorid entsteht hieraus der Chlorokomplex [RuCl4(NS)2Cl]⊖, in dem das Chloridion chelatartig von den S‐Atomen der Thionitrosylgruppen gebunden ist. Mit Tetraphenylphosphoniumbromid reagiert RuCl4(NS)2 unter Redox‐Reaktion zu (PPh4)2[{RuCl4(NS)}2(μ‐N2S2)], welches mit Trimethylsilylbromid in die Titelverbindung umgewandelt werden kann. Die IR‐Spektren werden mitgeteilt. (PPh4)2[{RuBr4(NS)}2(μ‐N2S2)] · 4 CH2X2 (X Cl, Br) haben wir durch eine röntgenographische Strukturbestimmung charakterisiert (1534 beobachtete, unabhängige Reflexe, R = 8,5%). Es kristallisiert monoklin in der Raumgruppe P21/n mit zwei Formeleinheiten pro Elementarzelle. Die Gitterabmessungen sind a = 1680,7, b = 1287,0, c = 1706,1 pm und β = 99,97°. Die Verbindung besteht aus Tetraphenylphosphoniumkationen, CH2Br2 und CH2Cl2‐Molekülen (statistisch) und zentrosymmetrischen Anionen [{RuBr4(NS)}2(μ‐N2S2)]2⊖, in denen die Rutheniumatome über die N‐Atome eines ebenen N2S2‐Ringes verknüpft sind. In trans‐Position hierzu ist je ein Thionitrosylligand in gestreckter Anordnung RuNS koordiniert mit Abständen RuN von 169 pm und NS von 151 pm. Je vier terminale Bromatome ergänzen die verzerrt oktaedrische Umgebung an den Rutheniumatomen. Die coplanar zu dem verknüpfenden N2S2‐Ring angeordneten Bromatome bilden kurze S…︁Br‐Kontakte von im Mittel 317 pm aus.
