Allerdings ist durch die Untersuehungen ~farchand's die Genese der Neubildung so weit geklgrt, dass die Iglemente des doppelten Chorionzottenfiberzuges a.ls die eigentliche Basis der Tumorbildung a.nzusehen sind. Streitig ist dabei der Antheil, der den Zellen der Langha.ns'schen Sehieht einerseits und dem Syneytium a.ndererseits bei dem Aufbau der Geschw~ilste zukommt~ und zweifelhaft erseheint ferner die Rolle, die das Bindegewebe tier fiSta.len Zotten und der Decidua dabei spielL Zur vollen glgrung dieser und a.nderer mehr untergeordneter Punkte wird es noeh weiterer easuistischer Forsehungen bedtirfen. Vor Allem wird es wiinsehenswerth sein, F~ttle yon noeh nicht welt vorgesehrittener Tumorbildung~ Anfaangssta.dien und von seeund/iren Vergnderungen freie Krankheitsbilder mehr a.ls bisher zu studiren, um a.uch fiber die Aetiologie Aufsehluss zu gewinnen. Im Ansehluss an Maarehand fassen die meisten neueren Untersueher die uns bescMfdgenden Tumoren als Produkte f/Sta.ler Gewebswucherung a.uf, weshalb a.n Stelle des Namens Deeiduoma die Bezeichnungen Syneytioma und Chorionepithelioma vorgeschlagen wurden. Einen ganz abweiehenden Sta.ndpunkt nimmt V eit ein~ der dig Betheiligung des Chorionepithels nieht fiir wesentlieh h/ilt und die Ges&wiilste a.ls Sa.rkome a.uffa.sst, die unter dem Einfluss der Sehwangerschaft in eigenartiger Weise modifieirt seien. S0weit a.us der Litera.tur ersiehtlieh ist, steht Veit mit dieser Anseha.uung isolirt dar, und es ist deshalb zu beklagen, dass in dem yon ibm redigirten Ha.ndbueh dieser Auffaassung, welehe der a.natomisehen Begr~indung dureha.us entbehrt, ein so breiter l~aum gewghrt ist. Der naehfolgende, yon uns beobaehtete Fall, der aaueh in kliniseher Beziehung yon grossem Interesse ist, ist zweifellos geeignet, tiber manehe der noeh streitigen Pu~~kte Klarheit zu seha.ffen, und werden wir dabei a.ueh Gelegenheit ha.ben, a.uf die V eit'sohe Hypothese ngher einzugehen.

Denn withrend Fenomenow (2)unter 2000 Placenten nut 3 real solehe mit Cysten land, Winckel (3) ihre Hitufigkeit auf 3 pCt. seh~tzt, konnte Kerm aun e r unter 285 systematisch darauf hin untersuehten Placenten 160mal = in 56,14pCt. der F/~lle makroskopisch wahrnehmbare subamniotisehe Cysten feststellen. Da er abet auch an makroskopiseh anscheinend cystenfreien Placenten aus den versehiedensten Schwangerschaftsmonaten (einmal aus dem V. his VI. Monat) bei der mikroskopischen Untersuehung kleinste Cystchen nachweisen konnte, so kommt Kerm aun er zu dem Sehluss, dass die Cystenbildung in der Placenta wahrscheinlich ein ganz regelm/issiger Vorgang ski, tier nut manchmal besondere Dimensionen ann/ihme.Wenn auch diese weitgehende Ansieht Kermauner's natiirlich noeh der Bestittigung dutch eingehende mikroskopische Unter'-suchungen an einem grossen Material bedarf (t{ermauner untersuchte die Cysten yon etwa 40 Placenten mikroskopisch), so scheint sie dog angesichts der durch die Arbeiten yon Ehrendorfer (t), Peiser (5), de Jong (6) und auch Kermauner (1) festgestellten Aetiologie 1) dieser subchorialen Cysten schon z. Zt.
