Neben der Wasserbeschaffenheit, der Installationsausführung und den Betriebsbedingungen beeinflußt die Oberflächenbeschaffenheit das Korrosionsverhalten von Kupferrohren im Trinkwasser. Handelsübliche Kupferrohre werden daher schon seit längerem mit sehr reinen Innenoberflächen geliefert. Dieser Zustand kann durch verschiedene Verfahren, nämlich sehr saubere Fertigung, oxidierende Behandlung oder eine abrasive Reinigung als letztem Fertigungsschritt erreicht werden. Die Entwicklung des Ruhepotentials sowie das Durchbruchs‐ und Repassivierungspotential werden in handelsüblichen Rohren der drei Fertigungsmöglichkeiten in einem trinkwasserähnlichen Sulfat/Chlorid/Karbonat Elektrolyten untersucht.
KurdassungMit Hilfe der Dreieckspannungsmethode wurde an blanken Platinelektroden die Sauerstoffreduktion aus schwach sauren, ungepufferten, wa$rigen Elektrolytlosungen untersucht. Die Diffusionsgrenzstromdichte der Protonen fuhrt zu einem Plateau in der Stromdichte-Potentialkurve. Es wurde ein Einflu$ der Art und der Konzentration der Anionen auf die Uberspannung festgestellt.
In der Strom‐Spannungskurve der Wasserstoffentwicklung aus starken säuren tritt an rotierenden Scheibenelektroden eine Grenzstromdichte auf, die durch die Diffusions‐grenzstomdichte der Protonen verursacht wird. Bei der Wasserstoffentwicklung in kohlendioxidhaltigen, wäßrigen Elektrolyten tritt ebenfalls eine Grenzstromdichte aus. Trägt man bei konstanter Lösungszusammensetzung die gemessene Grenzstromdichte über der Wurzel aus der Winkelgeschwindigkeit der rotierenden Scheibenelektrode auf, so erhält man eine Gerade, welche die Ordinate in CO2‐gesättigten Lösungen bei einer Stromedichte von ungefähr 0,13 mA/cm2 schneidet. Dieser experimentelle Befung wird interpretiert als Überlagerung der diffusionskntrollierten Wasserstoffentwicklung aus den protonen des Elektrolyten und einer heterogen ablaufenden Reaktionsfolge, die durch die Hydratation des adsorbierten Kohlendioxids unter Abspaltung von Protonen bestimmt wird. Die heterogen ablaufende Reaktionsfolge kann durch dünne, poröse Kalziumkarbonatschichten beschleunigt werden. Diese Befunde sind für das Verständanis der Wasserstoffkorrosion in CO2‐haltigen Wässern und feuchten Gasen und zum Verständnis der fällungskinetik und der korrsionsschützenden Wirkung von Kalziumkarbonatschichten von Bedeutung.
