The stability constants have been measured for some chelated compounds with metals formed by picolinic, 0-methylpicolinic, and quinoline-2-and -8-carboxylic acid in aqueous solution. The figures obtained by potentiometric titration cannot be considered as accurate but conform with the results which might be expected for these compounds. All are weak chelating agents. The complexes with isaquinoline-1-carboxylic acid are too insoluble for measurements to be made.
The value appropriate to 26" given by Partington ("An Advanced Treatise on Physical Chemistry," Longmans, London, 1949). corrected by means of Kirchhoffs equation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
