Contents: An attempt was made to separate a syndrome of abnormal uterine mucus secretion and retention post partum from the well‐described endometritis‐metritis‐pyometra complex. The latter responds well to estrogen treatment, whereas the former in our experience, collected in 30 cases, responded only to progestogenic treatment. As long as the retention of mucus did not exceed the size of a 6‐8‐week pregnancy, a single injection of fiO to 125 mg chlormadinone acetate suspension was sufficient as a cure, whereas in cases with larger quantities of mucus retained its removal by a sucking pump accompanied the progestogenic treatment. In three cases with an abnormally large mucometra, 10 mg chlormadinone acetate was fed for 15 days in addition. In one animal a cure was obtained only by feeding 200 mg chlormadinone acetate daily for 10 days. Twentyeight out of 30 animals were cured by this treatment approach mostly within 2, and at latest within 4 weeks.
Inhalt 1.

Contents (The use of gestagens in the treatment of infertility in the cow [Collection of reports of unusual cases: Clinical reports I). Chlormadinone acetate has been used successfully in correcting cattle infertility as shown in two unusual clinical cases of repeated multiple follicle formation post parturn, and of a repeated vulvar and rectal prolapse during gestation, which threatened termination of gestation and the mothers's disposal.
