À partir des trajectoires de deux enfants perçus comme « violents », extraits de notre pratique en institution, nous nous intéressons à la façon dont celle-ci se trouve contradictoirement prise entre une modalité contemporaine spécifique du lien social, dite « altéricide », et l’impératif d’une clinique singulière et vivante. Ainsi l’institution, à l’instar d’une peau, devrait être à la fois poreuse à la société à laquelle elle appartient et protectrice de ceux qu’elle accompagne. Pour penser notre présent, nous sommes aidés par un essai philosophique particulièrement illustratif de ces enjeux.
La psychose et l’embarras qu’elle suscite dans les équipes ferait signe de la perte d’une épistémologie commune nécessaire, celle de la psychanalyse, historiquement fondée. La domination sans partage de ce que R. Gori appelle la rationalité pratico-formelle dans nos institutions, déshumanise le langage et neutralise partage et élaboration. Faute d’avoir une ombre, l’ombre de l’inconscient, le psychotique renvoie chacun à l’abri d’une identité professionnelle et de son langage sans partage, au péril de sa prise en charge. C’est le retour à Babel.
