Acute pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) can, at times, be a difficult diagnosis to make. Because PID is responsible for significant infectious morbidity in young women, today's physician must make use of the most effective diagnostic tools available. This report illustrates a case of an infected pancreatic pseudocyst mimicking acute salpingitis, where the most effective diagnostic tool was the abdominal CT scan. (J GYNECOL SURG 10:115,1994) .
