Ainda que o número de pesquisas qualitativas nos periódicos científicos internacionais de turismo esteja crescendo, as pesquisas quantitativas são claramente predominantes. Partindo dessa constatação preliminar, o presente artigo objetiva examinar o uso de métodos estatísticos para a análise de dados nas pesquisas em turismo no Brasil. Este trabalho examinou o uso de métodos estatísticos inferenciais ou multivariados para a análise de dados nas pesquisas publicadas na forma de artigos em três dos principais periódicos científicos brasileiros de turismo – Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo (RBTUR), Revista Turismo em Análise (RTA) e Revista Turismo – Visão e Ação (RTVA). Foram selecionados todos os artigos publicados ao longo de dois períodos distintos de sete anos cada: o inicial (1990-96) e o mais recente (2012-18). Os métodos utilizados foram retratados por meio de estatísticas descritivas. Os resultados mostram que a pesquisa brasileira faz pouco uso de métodos estatísticos avançados em comparação com a prática corrente nos principais periódicos científicos internacionais da área. Ademais, a lista de métodos estatísticos mais frequentes revela uma tendência de aprimoramento e complexidade metodológica da pesquisa em turismo no país. Os métodos atualmente mais empregados são aqueles relacionados à análise de variáveis latentes, como a análise fatorial e a modelagem de equações estruturais. Por outro lado, uma vasta gama de alternativas metodológicas não tem sido explorada. Dessa forma, a pesquisa aponta para a existência de diversas oportunidades de inovação e aprimoramento metodológico das pesquisas em turismo no Brasil.
O presente trabalho propõe a aplicação da modelagem de sistema de recomendação por abordagem colaborativa, por meio do algoritmo kNN. Trata-se de uma alternativa para estimar quais destinos seriam preferidos pelos turistas em função de seus históricos de viagem. Para tanto, foi desenvolvido um sistema de coleta de dados dos mapas de viagem de usuários da plataforma TripAdvisor. Com base neles, foi possível comparar as recomendações do sistema, feitas a partir de um histórico mínimo de três países visitados, e os dois destinos internacionais efetivamente visitados na sequência pelos usuários. Observou-se que o grau de acerto não cresce conforme aumenta o tamanho "k" da comunidade relacionada ao algoritmo quando verificados os valores de 10, 50 e 100 membros. Porém, o percentual de acerto é maior entre os turistas com menor quantidade de países visitados. Tais resultados podem colaborar para a gestão de turismo no contexto do eTourism, uma vez que a quantidade de dados e informações disponíveis no ambiente Big Data é expressiva e permite traçar estratégias de relacionamento entre os destinos, agências de turismo e turistas.Ademais, os resultados do sistema de recomendação são personalizados, dinâmicos e não são difíceis de serem implementados. Com isso, pretende-se contribuir para a aproximação entre as áreas relacionadas às ciências de dados, computação e o turismo, apontando novas ferramentas que subsidiem a tomada de decisão na gestão estratégica do turismo.Palavras-chave: Turismo; Sistema de recomendação; Big Data; Inteligência Artificial;TripAdvisor.
A fidelização de destinos turísticos tem importância estratégica tanto para a tomada de decisão empresarial como para formulação de políticas públicas com relação a sua competitividade. Por meio de um estudo empírico com dados da pesquisa de turismo receptivo do Ministério de Turismo do ano de 2013, o artigo avaliou as variáveis que determinam a fidelização de turistas internacionais no Brasil. Foram tratadas como variáveis relacionadas à fidelização a intenção de retorno ao país e o número de visitas ao Brasil realizadas pelos turistas estrangeiros, com aplicação das técnicas estatísticas regressão logística e regressão linear simples respectivamente. Observou-se que a variáveis relacionadas à motivação e satisfação do turista explicam o comportamento da fidelização, o que reforça os resultados encontrados em outros estudos internacionais que abordaram o tema.
