Las familias con mayor número de especies utilizadas fueron Asteraceae, Geraniaceae y Urticaceae; de acuerdo a su uso, las especies fueron agrupadas en 12 categorías de dolencias y 37 sub-categorías, siendo algunos: traumatismos, afecciones respiratorias, dolencias no definidas (susto, colerina, etc.) y digestivas, las más recurrentes. Por lo general las plantas se utilizan enteras, pero también se usan por separado las hojas y flores.
