Objetivo: Revisar a prevalência da sintomatologia da ansiedade social em universitários e possível impacto da metodologia ativa. Métodos: Estudo de revisão integrativa, realizado na base de dados Scielo, Medline, Lilacs e Scie-Pub, entre os anos de 2010 a 2020 no qual totalizaram 8 estudos. Os descritores utilizados foram: “estudantes”, “ansiedade social” e “aprendizado baseado em problemas”. Os trabalhos selecionados foram os que abordavam a prevalência da sintomatologia do TAS em universitários. Resultados: Os estudos analisados demonstraram uma alta prevalência da sintomatologia do Transtorno de Ansiedade Social entre os universitários, sendo que em todos, tal prevalência foi maior nesses estudantes do que a encontrada na população geral. Ademais, muitas vezes tal patologia encontrou-se associada a outras comorbidades. Entre esses estudantes, a prevalência foi ainda maior entre os discentes de medicina e a população feminina. O estudo que envolveu o cenário da metodologia de aprendizado baseado em problemas (ABP) sugeriu que a prevalência de fobia social adquiriu padrão decrescente conforme o avançar da graduação. Considerações Finais: O TAS é altamente prevalente na população universitária e o ABP despontou como possível atenuante da sintomatologia, evidenciando a necessidade de mais estudos para melhor elucidação.
