El Movimiento Armónico Simple (MAS) es uno de los temas que conforman el currículo universitario de la licenciatura en Física, su estudio forma parte del curso introductorio de Física y del laboratorio correspondiente. El MAS supone confrontar una serie de obstáculos conceptuales debido a las abstracciones físicas requeridas y a las herramientas matemáticas necesarias para trabajarlas. En este trabajo se propone una solución a esta problemática bajo la forma de una secuencia didáctica basada en el ciclo de aprendizaje 4MAT, modificado para la integración de un laboratorio virtual, como línea de acción principal durante todo el ciclo. Gracias a la utilización del ciclo 4MAT, es posible adaptar el tema a las necesidades de aprendizaje de cada estudiante. Además, el laboratorio virtual le otorga una nueva dimensión a la secuencia didáctica, ya que ha sido comprobado que el uso de simulaciones incrementa el aprendizaje del MAS en estudiantes universitarios. Utilizando el modelo de evaluación Kirkpatrick, se demuestra que existe una relación proporcional entre el aprendizaje percibido por los estudiantes y los resultados que presentaron al finalizar la secuencia didáctica. Contrariamente, se reporta que no existe ninguna relación entre la satisfacción y el desempeño de los estudiantes durante la secuencia didáctica.
