A educação comunitária é fundamental no desenvolvimento das condições de vida digna para o ser humano, principalmente quando se enfoca a alteridade, o saber colocar-se no lugar do outro. Nesse sentido, apresentamos o relato de experiência de um projeto de pesquisa e extensão interdisciplinar, na perspectiva social e comunitária – por meio do método dialético da ação-reflexão-ação – objetivando a transformação de uma realidade social. Participam dos encontros semanais, professores, graduandos do curso de Pedagogia e de Psicologia da Unesp/Bauru e 22 jovens, com idade entre 15 e 23 anos, de um bairro carente da cidade, conhecido como Ferradura Mirim. A idealização do projeto surgiu da parceria entre a universidade e uma ONG que atua no bairro, visando desenvolver ações educativas na perspectiva da cidadania e da construção da autonomia com um grupo de adolescentes. Criamos espaço de reflexão para discussões e trocas de experiências sobre questões ligadas à realidade dos participantes. Como recursos metodológicos foram utilizados vídeos, músicas, textos, e vivenciadas dinâmicas de grupo. Os resultados parciais das atividades desenvolvidas apontam aspectos positivos para a formação dos alunos extensionistas, para as práticas dos professores envolvidos, bem como para esses adolescentes do bairro. Este artigo expressa nosso desejo de socializar essa experiência.
