Introdução: A utilização de plantas medicinais concede propriedades profiláticas e curativas, tornando-se reconhecida pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS). Este método apresenta grandes benefícios por ter um ótimo custo-benefício, além de mostrar-se como uma alternativa não invasiva. Objetivo: Analisar os benefícios de plantas medicinais para o tratamento de feridas. Métodos: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, realizada através das bases de dados: SciVerse Scopus e Medical Literature Analysis and Retrievel System Online e por meio das bases de dados: Base de Dados de Enfermagem, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde e Índice Bibliográfico Espanhol em Ciências e Saúde, indexadas via Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde. Foram incluídos 10 artigos por atenderem ao objetivo proposto. A partir da revisão de literatura e análise dos estudos indexados nas plataformas eletrônicas, foram encontrados 98 estudos científicos, sendo que, apenas 33 estudos foram selecionados, 17 atenderam aos critérios de inclusão previamente estabelecidos, destes, 07 foram excluídos com base nos critérios de exclusão, restando 10 artigos para composição e análise do estudo. Resultados: Os estudos evidenciam que as plantas medicinais apresentam enorme potencial cicatrizante, além de inúmeras outras contribuições medicinais, como: maior síntese de colágeno, maior quantidade de fibroblastos e angiogênese (responsáveis pelo desbridamento e remodelamento fisiológico). Considerações finais: O estudo aponta que é necessária a implementação de práticas integrativas que promovam conhecimento sobre as possíveis plantas que poderiam participar da terapêutica da lesão, atuando como método não-farmacológico.
