O estudo traçou um perfil da infecção por enteroparasitos, dos indicadores socioeconômicos e de saúde com crianças/adolescentes residentes em Santo Antônio de Jesus/Bahia (de novembro de 2010 a agosto de 2011), com preenchimento de questionário e realização de parasitológicos de fezes. Houve predominância do sexo masculino (53,2%); idade média de 6,44 anos; 75% com parasitológicos de fezes positivos; maior prevalência de eutróficos (70,9%); 72,6% das crianças/adolescentes com parasitológico de fezes positivo também apresentando sintomatologia. Maior positividade foi encontrada em crianças/adolescentes com responsáveis que possuíam ensino fundamental incompleto (47,0%). A respeito das manifestações alérgicas: 17,9% possuíam diagnóstico para asma; 34,0% para rinite; e 13,5% para eczema. Encontrou-se elevada prevalência de enteroparasitos que pode ser consequência das precárias condições sociais e de saneamento em que vive a população.
