This paper presents the results of electrocardiography (ECG) signals recording when the subjects were exposed to magneto therapy procedure, with different magnetic field pulses. After the time domain and frequency domain representations of the recorded signals, there were trying to recover ECG signals waveforms, especially those during magneto therapy. In order to identify possible changes in ECG signals during the exposure to magnetic fields, there were also determined the R-R interval variability before, during and after magneto therapy.
Wireless local area networks (WLAN) are an increasingly used communication technology employing energy of radiofrequency (RF). Although the power emitted by WLAN systems is relatively small (in Europe, a maximum of 100 mW is permitted in the classic 2.4 GHz frequency band), concerns about possible health effects risks from exposure to radiofrequency (RF) fields originating on WLAN are sometimes expressed by the general public. In such a context, this paper presents results of a survey conducted in different office environments, with the aim to provide an overview of the RF exposure levels from common WLAN equipment, including access points and client stations.
The shielding effectiveness of the omni-directional selective shielding material based on CoFe-glass coated amorphous wires in 0.8 GHz-3 GHz microwave frequency range is investigated. The measurements were done in a controlled medium using a TEM cell and in the free space using horn antennas, respectively. Experimental results indicate that the composite shielding material can be developed with desired shielding effectiveness and selective absorption of the microwave frequency range by controlling the number of the layers and the length of microwires.
In this paper we present the results of the long term survey of the low frequency (50 Hz 20000 Hz) background magnetic induction (B) in some residential areas. Firstly, we present the triaxial measurement system proposed, realized and calibrated by authors, which has an uncertainty of about 5%. This instrument can make the automatic long term survey with the characterization of the magnetic fields, being adequate to estimate the human exposure. We used our instrument to perform both spot measurements (time and frequency domain representations of the three fields' components) and an automatic long term survey of the field components and of the resultant magnetic field, with their recording and statistical processing. Statistics were made for hours, days, weeks, and a month. The mean values of background magnetic fields for an 8 day survey period in a laboratory was 139 nT and 50 nT for a 32 day survey period in an apartment kitchen.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
