El artículo se propone mostrar la heteronormatividad como un objetivo pedagógico no-tematizado de la educación pública. Con este propósito se desarrolla una lectura del movimiento de madres y padres de familia en contra de los Programas de Estudio para la Educación en Afectividad y Sexualidad del Ministerio de Educación Pública en Costa Rica, así como de las interpretaciones, demandas, y quejas sobre la educación sexual de estudiantes de una secundaria pública en San Carlos. El sustento empírico de estas reflexiones se deriva, principalmente, de la consulta realizada, mediante cuestionarios de corte cualitativo, a personas jóvenes de este cantón. A la luz de las teorías de la reproducción social, se discutirá el «fatalismo de género» como una configuración ideológica fundada en la doble negación de la historicidad de la división sexual del trabajo y la centralidad del trabajo reproductivo en el capitalismo. La defensa de la «familia tradicional» se entenderá, de acuerdo a lo anterior, en función del paulatino abandono por parte del Estado de su compromiso con la reproducción de la vida en el capitalismo neoliberal. Finaliza argumentando la necesidad de una educación sexual que reconozca la contingencia histórica de la heterosexualidad en tanto institución política, como estrategia para erosionar las disposiciones fatalistas en términos de género.
Alfabetización Crítica es un proyecto inscrito en la División de Educología en la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, compuesto desde su inicio en 2004 por un equipo de trabajo interdisciplinario. La pedagogía crítica, la sociología de la educación, la filosofía de la educación más recientemente las reflexiones en torno a la interculturalidad y las pedagogías descoloniales, entre otros saberes afines como la psicología social, han nutrido su quehacer políticamente comprometido. Este proyecto ha atravesado cuatro etapas distintas enfocadas en problemáticas coyunturales del sistema educativo, proyectándose hacia una quinta etapa en el período 2019-2021. El recorrido de Alfabetización parte de la constatación de una crisis de la educación secundaria en el país, y la consecuente disputa en torno a la lectura adecuada de sus signos. El posicionamiento en torno a los nuevos proyectos educativos que deberían erigirse, en respuesta al desgaste del modelo educativo tradicional, ha requerido un abordaje cuestionador del discurso mediático oficial que revela una agenda neoliberalizante, incompatible con el reconocimiento de los y las estudiantes en tanto sujetos políticos y epistemológicos. Rompiendo con este modelo, Alfabetización Crítica ha apostado por el ejercicio de la investigación-acción en el campo educativo. A continuación, ofrezco un breve recorrido a través de los principales momentos de este proyecto, desde sus inicios y hasta el presente, vistos a través de su producción académica.
En este artículo me aproximo a la higiene mental y a la salud mental como vehículos de la psicologización de la sociedad costarricense. Identifico algunas de las estrategias, discursos y fantasías de los psicólogos asociados a estos paradigmas a través de fuentes documentales: libros de texto, programas de estudio, leyes y políticas en salud mental, y campañas del Colegio de Profesionales en Psicología de Costa Rica, adoptando una perspectiva histórica-crítica. Analizo las proyecciones preventivas y de promoción a nivel comunitario, escolar, y familiar como parte de una vocación generosa (Rose, 1998), con que la disciplina ha infiltrado las instituciones socializadoras. Posteriormente, abordo el problema de la cooptación terapeutocrática de derechos sociales en relación con el auge de los enfoques cognitivo-conductuales. Finalmente, discuto las aspiraciones consensuales de la psicopolítica (de Vos, 2012), en el contexto de pandemia por COVID-19 y reforma psiquiátrica.
En los últimos años, el lenguaje de los privilegios se ha popularizado como medio de expresión y registro de las desigualdades radicales que organizan la vida en la modernidad tardía. Personas estudiosas del privilegio han instado en este marco al examen y explicitación pública de los propios privilegios, como condición previa para la colaboración y el diálogo entre grupos sociales sistemáticamente aventajados por las jerarquías coloniales, patriarcales, heterosexistas y de clase, y aquellos grupos a los que perjudican. Me distancio de esta apuesta para argumentar que la multiplicidad de identificaciones con los lugares del privilegio y del desprivilegio, fundadas en una economía simbólica de la deuda, obturan la posibilidad de una subjetivación política en ambos extremos de la conversación.
