This paper discusses detection and identification of the moving vehicles based on prerecorded acoustic noise patterns. Object movement and object type differences would lead to the significant vehicle pattern changes. Doppler shift estimations of the measured signal spectral components will improve the recognition and classification performance. The proposed pattern identification methods could be used for the robust single sensor system or as a part of complex multisensor and learning solutions. The experimental results illustrate measured signal processing stages.
This paper introduces a new beamforming and received data post-processing method for forward-looking sonar applications with limited number of array elements. Applications like Sidescan or Forward Looking Sonars, used for area efficient sea floor imaging, collect large amount of raw data, which allows us to do both imagery and additional data processing. Moreover, object localization improvement could be accomplished by the post-processing of the received information collected with digital beamforming and beam focusing. Test results illustrate the efficiency of the proposed post-processing algorithms in terms of angular aperture and target detection. A system of devices for continuous and simultaneous recording of a number of articulatory and acoustic phenomena in connected speech are described. They •comprise: variation of lung volume and pressure, intraoral pressure, velocity of nasal and oral air flow, tongue-palate contact, lip closure, larynx vibration, emitted soundwave. The data from these transducers may be displayed on a multichannel ink-oscillograph and also processed digitally for detection of speech production parameters. The intrapulmonary pressure and volume is measured with a bodyplethysmograph the principal function and accuracy of which is discussed in some detail. .(Summary made by G. FANT) A system of devices designed for continuous and simultaneous recording of a number of articulatory and acoustic phenomena in fluent speech is in use atPavlov Institute of Physiology. The parameters that can be measured and recorded during speech process are shown in Fig. 1. The measurements are made with electrical transducers, special devices and electronic apparatus. All the units are •combined in an experimental installation which makes it possible to register simultaneously a number of parameters reflecting the basic articulatory events during continuous speech. The main blocks of the set are presented in Fig. 2.All the transducers are working on the principle of carrier wave modulation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
