We present a method for change detection in images using Conditional Adversarial Network approach. The original network architecture based on pix2pix is proposed and evaluated for difference map creation. The paper address three types of experiments: change detection in synthetic images without objects relative shift, change detection in synthetic images with small relative shift of objects, and change detection in real season-varying remote sensing images.
ABSTRACT:Tooth measurements (odontometry) are performed for various scientific and practical applications, including dentistry. Present-day techniques are being increasingly based on 3D model use that provides wider prospects in comparison to measurements on real objects: teeth or their plaster copies. The main advantages emerge through application of new measurement methods which provide the needed degree of non-invasiveness, precision, convenience and details. Tooth measurements have been always regarded as a time-consuming research, even more so with use of new methods due to their wider opportunities. This is where automation becomes essential for further development and implication of measurement techniques. In our research automation in obtaining 3D models and automation of measurements provided essential data that was analysed to suggest recommendations for tooth preparation -one of the most responsible clinical procedures in prosthetic dentistry -within a comparatively short period of time. The original photogrammetric 3D reconstruction system allows to generate 3D models of dental arches, reproduce their closure, or occlusion, and to perform a set of standard measurement in automated mode.
For non-contact 3D measurements in hydrodynamic tunnels by photogrammetry methods, it is necessary to refine the standard model of image formation in the camera by taking into account an effect of refraction of rays at the boundaries of optical media, namely, at an air-glass boundary and glass-working fluid boundary. The article presents a model of image formation for shooting in a working environment that includes various optical media and methods for calibrating an optical system for 3D measurements of the coordinates of scene objects, while taking into account the real boundaries of the optical media. Experimental results on calibrating the system of three-dimensional measurements when an object image is formed by rays passing through two optical boundaries are discussed.
ABSTRACT:The quality and condition of a road surface is of great importance for convenience and safety of driving. So the investigations of the behaviour of road materials in laboratory conditions and monitoring of existing roads are widely fulfilled for controlling a geometric parameters and detecting defects in the road surface. Photogrammetry as accurate non-contact measuring method provides powerful means for solving different tasks in road surface reconstruction and analysis. The range of dimensions concerned in road surface analysis can have great variation from tenths of millimetre to hundreds meters and more. So a set of techniques is needed to meet all requirements of road parameters estimation. Two photogrammetric techniques for road surface analysis are presented: for accurate measuring of road pavement and for road surface reconstruction based on imagery obtained from unmanned aerial vehicle. The first technique uses photogrammetric system based on structured light for fast and accurate surface 3D reconstruction and it allows analysing the characteristics of road texture and monitoring the pavement behaviour. The second technique provides dense 3D model road suitable for road macro parameters estimation.
Abstract. 3D imaging techniques, which started to be exact in regard to the current study with photogrammetry, have brought to development of measurement method – automated digital odontometry (aDo) – with wider opportunities in terms of understanding morphological characteristics of human (or, non-human) teeth and dentition. Revealing them through odontometric parameters, not as visual descriptions, as it has been accepted for decades and is widespread till today, digital measurement methods provide for various previously unattainable detailed objective studies including descriptions or comparisons. These types of studies, carried out for dental and anthropological applications, are of high demand in palaeoanthropology, especially in cases of rare combination of finding uniqueness and preservation degree with considerations of unusual morphology. Thus odontological samples from the Upper Palaeolithic Sunghir’ (individual C2) are of particular interest in the current study which is aimed to detect distinctive parameters related to morphological features and to compare the degree of feature expression on antimere teeth and teeth with lower degree of that feature expression.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
