For a long time various fields of knowledge have been developing the topic of habit, i.e. unconscious performance of an action there is hardly any cohesion about habit formation and few attempts are made to develop a formalized representation of this process. Our previously published habit formation algorithm did not account for a number of factors such as goal of action, saving of mental resources during the transition from conscious execution to habitual, preliminary assessment of act result, importance of the action, environmental complexity. This article takes these factors into account and proposes a refined computer algorithm of habit formation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
