Palabras clave: vivienda, eficiencia energética, hábitat sustentable, Chile.ABSTRACT -Housing development in the central-south area of Chile (Regions VII, VIII and IX) gives response to the needs for housing with low density detached dwellings of similar typologies and constructive systems. The challenges of the reconstruction process after the earthquake of the 27 th of February 2010 are been faced with similar buildings, applying a thermal regulation that is innovative in Latin America, but not rigorous enough when compared with international standards that achieve more important reductions in energy demand. In addition, the climatic conditions of the area would allow a considerable improvement of the thermal performance of buildings if some typological strategies related to group layout, solar incidence, thermal mass and thermal envelope are considered. This article reviews some environmental and morphological characteristics of residential buildings in the area, proposing recommendations for design and construction phase that could be applied in order to promote more energy efficient housing.
In the tourism area, the use of mobile devices brings significant benefits, considering the associated mobility, the instant access and the quality of the tourist information provided. One of the applications in this field is the electronic tourist guide, which provide information to tourists to better enjoy their trip. In this perspective, this work proposes a model that uses mobile and ubiquitous tourism concepts to improve tourist experience. We had developed a prototype for iOS focused on the Caminhos de Pedra tourist itinerary, in Bento Gonçalves / Rio Grande do Sul. Using this prototype, we carried on two evaluations, regarding the ontology proposed and usability. As a result, we could verify that the proposed model helps people to better experience their trips.

Se plantea finalmente que estos nuevos recursos obligan a revisar la acción profesional y educativa Architectural education must develop technical and aesthetic skills in order to elaborate constructions projects. New digital manufacturing machines allow to the creation of material models, as well as industrialized components creating new capabilities that must be properly integrated into professional teaching. This article discusses the implications of these technologies in the architectural education based on seven academic experiences. The activities were guided by authors in different institutions in Chile, Brazil and Argentina, with different equipments, extensions and contents. These experiments contributed to the learning of constructive subjects, and the relationship of design teaching, motivation and creativity. This study detected the influences of these technologies in the material understanding and design logic, that evolve from the development of global shapes to constructive systems, changing the cognitive condition of design. This article also discusses the industrial and social projection of these technologies in building, since they encourage automation in construction generating productive changes. Finally, it states that these new resources promote a review the work and educational activity in architecture, and motivating a more precise elaboration of design's qualities.
The following paper intends to demonstrate how parameterization can be a facilitator in the process of systematization and manufacturing of orthoses in a company focused on assistive technology products. By defining these parameters, it is expected to assist in the automation of the manufacturing process, as well as through a greater degree of personalization to provide a better user experience in the use of these devices, resulting in a better development of the tasks in a daily basis. The process for the development of an orthosis is presented, as well as possibilities for validation and further development.
The aim of this paper is to design a public facilitie using both digital manufacture and rapid prototyping design methods. These new technologies have been used in product design development by some ways: helping in the comprehension of complex geometries; used as tools for analyzing the design process, thus avoiding errors in the project. The analysis were carried out using virtual simulation tests and physical prototype in reduced scale. The prototype was manufactured using the 3D printer V--Flash in the Virtual Design Laboratory -UFRGS, where positive and negatives aspects were identified and described.
