Purpose: The major purpose of current study was to explore the awareness regarding education for sustainable development (ESD) of the Pakistani prospective teachers. It is necessary to explore the understanding and awareness of prospective teachers for further implementation process of ESD in the Pakistan general education to achieve UNESCO’s aim of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014). As future generation can shape society in a sustainable manner so it is necessary to investigate the comprehension of prospective teachers regarding ESD Methodology: Population of the study was all prospective teachers. Total 115 prospective teachers of a public university were taken as a sample of this study in Lahore. It was cross sectional study and quantitative in nature. The data was collected through standardized instrument questionnaire which was consisted on 19 statements (International Institute for Sustainable Development, 2009). Findings: Current study found that students have already much awareness about ESD before teaching the course of ESD thus there is not major difference of awareness about ESD among students before teaching and after teaching the ESD course. Implications: It is recommended that as students already have awareness about ESD without teaching ESD as a course thus awareness might be given through multimedia, advertisements in T.V, radio, banners and other colorful sources from early education. So such subjects should be included in elementary education.
Purpose: The objective of the study was to compare the English writing skills of English in the classroom at secondary level. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study was carried on sample of hundred students of secondary level drawn from simple randomly selected from five private and five public secondary schools of Lahore. Self-structured test was used to compare English writing skill at secondary level. There were two sections of test, essay type and translation of ten sentences into English. The data collected was analyzed by using percentage and results obtained were converted to descriptive findings. Findings: The result showed English writing skill of private school students is better than public schools students because majority of the private school students have correct sentence structure, Subject verb agreement in essay writing, correct Translations of Urdu sentences into English as compared to the public school students. In addition, most of the public schools student’s spelling, use of tenses and uses of auxiliaries are good and correct in essay writing rather than the private school students. Implications/Originality/Value: So it is concluded that exercises for the English writing skill may be maximized in both public and private schools by using various teaching techniques.
This was proposed to investigate the effect of self-regulated learning strategies on 8th class students achievement for learning English. This was experimental research. Intact group (8th class students) pretest and posttest of design was utilized voluntarily for data collection. The experimental group was taught with SRL strategies and control group was taught with traditional strategy. The pre and post-administration results of group with intervention and control groups were compared to determine the use of SRL strategies had statistically significant effect on students achievement to learn English. Independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test and Repeated Measures Analysis were employed for data analysis. The findings of this study revealed that SRL strategies had significant effect on students achievement scores. In conclusion, research was suggested to examine the effect of SRL strategies on students achievement on larger experimental population of various grades.

Video tutorials are a form of learning through some sort of videos with the help of graphical and audio representations used in it. Video tutorials have a wide history of learning whether it is curricular or any extracurricular activities. It is less expensive and easy to access comparative to other learning mediums. Students can easily access, learn or solve their problems without going anywhere. It generates affection towards learning easily. If learning becomes attractive for learners, then innovation and mind mapping for new trends became easy and joy able (Dempsey ;2005). This study examined the role of video tutorials in increasing the learning trends among Pakistani youth. To conduct this research population was selected from Lahore, city of Pakistan. Sample based on 10 Universities of Lahore and totals 507(males and females) students of different universities included in sample size. The methodology of this study based on survey where as this method used to obtain the data was quantitative in nature. The result showed that video tutorials plays crucial role in increasing the learning trends among Pakistani youth. The new learning trends convert the older once in modern and learning become more easy as well as more interested.30% respondents strongly agree with the statement, 35.3% were agree whereas 20.7% were neutral and 8.5% disagreed. The findings of this research shows that the youth of Pakistan is more intended towards video tutorials as learning medium instead of traditional ways. The results also reveal that, the time spent on video tutorial is relatively high in contrast to the older trends of learning.
