Similarly as for UMTS networks [1], an analytical approach is proposed for calculating the OFDM cell load levels without time consuming iterative Monte-Carlo snapshot simulations. This approach is based on a linear approximation of the behavior of the adaptive modulation and coding mechanism of OFDM systems such that load control can be modelled via analytic scaling and continuous traffic distributions instead of discrete user snapshots. We give a numerical example for solving an OFDM site selection problem which shows the feasibility of the proposed approach due to the fast capacity calculations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
