This study aims to find out 1). Innovative work planning for teachers of SMA Negeri 1 of South Halmahera and SMA AL-Khairaat Labuha, 2). The implementation of innovative work of teachers of SMA Negeri 1 Halmahera and SMA Al-Khairaat Labuha, 3). Supervision of innovative work of teachers of SMA Negeri 1 Halmahera and SMA Al-Khairaat Labuha, and 4). The assessment of innovative work of teachers of SMA Negeri 1 Halmahera and SMA Al-Khairaat Labuha. This study used qualitative approach with narrative research method and the research design used was a multi-site study, where first site is SMA Negeri 1 south Halmahera and second site is SMA AL-Khairaat Labuha where the locus located in south Halmahera district. The results showed that 1). The teachers innovative work planning at the two research sites was compiled through a process consisting of two stages, problem identification and alternative problem-solving option. Establishing teachers’ innovative work development plan and applying the principles of deliberation and consensus, 2). The implementation of innovative work of teachers at the two research sites based on the predetermined work plan and is supported by managerial behaviour in the form of providing motivation, communicating face to face and through the electronic medium such as smartphone and supported by teacher behaviour in the form of being committed to achieving innovative work development goal, 3). Supervision of teacher innovative work consists of three types of supervision which include before, during, and after the implementation of the teachers’ innovative work development plan, 4). The assessment of teachers’ innovative work is carried out through an assessment process consisting of three stages of measuring, comparing, and taking managerial action.
Learning Environment by using the Inquiry method can bring students into problems directly, so they can develop capabilities in terms of solving environmental problems that will be faced. In addition, the Inquiry method will train students to communicate well between fellow students and teachers (lecturers). The application of inquiry methods is effective in increasing students' competency of the environment and would be skilled in solving problems. By investigations conducted at Tondano Lake, students will be able to prove the truth of a theory by themselves. This type of research is an experiment using descriptive quantitative data analysis techniques by one group pretest-posttest design. This research is intended to describe the presence or absence of a treatment given to the subject of the study. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it was concluded that environmental learning using the inquiry method at Tondano Lake had a significant effect on students' competency. This is evidenced by the average gain score reaching 92.4769 or 94.5% and the implementation of learning which is in the effective category.
This study aims at investigating teachers efforts as well as difficulties in helping students learn English vocabulary in context. Interview was used to collect data. Three English teachers at one junior high school in Tondano were involved in this study. Teacher's efforts were identified as follows: giving students direct instruction of English vocabulary or words through texts, providing learning of English words through repetition, teaching of English words through context, using various strategies by teachers in teaching English words, and applying various media of teaching. Difficulties teachers were facing: how to be creative, time constraints to apply various media to make the learning more interesting and enjoyable. It could be suggested that (1) English teachers of the school need to hold special meeting each semester to discuss the strategies to teach English in general and especially English vocabulary, (2) English teachers should prepare and provide as many contexts as possible. With various contexts, the students are expected to learn English vocabulary more interesting and enjoyable.
This article presents the application of multimedia product of physics learning of kinematics material of straight motion to help improve students' Physics learning outcomes. Using multimedia can help students to understand the material in the form of facts, concepts, principles, or certain procedures to be real or concrete. This research applied ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The validity of the product was done by the material and media experts at the development stage to determine the level of qualification before applying into field trial. Field trials were conducted on 30 science students grade X in one of the senior high schools in North Minahasa. The results of field trials with 5 indicators indicated the percentage of product which is 88.89% and classical completeness of the material comprehension test which is 83.3%. These results stated that product development is good in qualification and therefore good to be used in learning. To test the result of learning improvement, we used the onesample statistical test with SPSS 17.0 software application with the results in which tCount = 4.723> ttable = 1.699. Thus, with 5% significance it is concluded that there is a significant increase in learning outcomes by using this developed media. Product revisions after field trials are conducted based on student suggestions and feedback.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
