The objective of this study is to find out the teacher’s perception on the implementation of using Whatsapp messanger and Youtube in class B 5th semesters of FLTM classroom at Muhammadiyah University students of Kendari. Since teacher’s perception has not been investigated thoroughly in the earlier research on the implementation of using WhatsApp and Youtube media as a learning tools. This study employs qualitative study design to find out lecturer’s perception in teaching process using Whatsapp and Youtube. The instruments used in this study are documentation and interview and the data are analyzed using data reduction, data display, meaning coding, meaning condensation, meaning interpretation, conclusion drawing and data triangulation. The findings reveal that the teacher considered to implement Whatsapp and Youtube in teaching have several advantages and disadvantages in learning objective and outcomes. This can be viewed in the arrangement of knowledge of subject matter, teacher-students interaction, design of instruction, and course management. Furthermore, teacher’s beliefs in using Whatsapp and Youtube in teaching appeared to be strongly connected to the flexibility of teaching and learning process and learning content availability.
Program pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing merupakan salah satu program pembelajaran yang diatur oleh pemerintah dan beberapa institusi di Indonesia. Universitas Muhammadiyah Kendari sebagai salah satu universitas yang memiliki mahasiswa Internasional diharapkan dapat menyelenggarakan program BIPA yang bertujuan untuk membekali Mahasiswa asing pengetahuan dan keterampilan berbahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sikap belajar siswa terhadap program Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 3 mahasiswa asing asal Thailand yang sedang menempuh kuliah strata-1 di Universitas Muhammadiyah Kendari. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa BIPA memiliki sikap belajar yang positif dalam berpartisipasi pada program BIPA. Mereka sangat antusias mengembangkan kemampuan bahasa Indonesia yang mereka miliki karena peran bahasa Indonesia sangat vital baik itu di dalam ataupun di luar kelas.
Abstract:The objective of the study is to investigate the language choice in the multilingual classroom. The research questions formulated are: (1) what type of code do the students switch and mix in the multilingual class at Gontor VII Riyadhatul Mujahidin? (2) why do the students switch and mix their language during learning process? The subject consists of 39 students of the 6B class in the academic year 2016-1017. The subject was taken purposively because the students of 6B are frequently using code-switching and code-mixing. Based on the data gained through observation, mostly the student did code-switching in the form of tag and code-switching in the form of inter-sentential. While in the form of code mixing, the students mainly mixed their language into intra-sentential and extra-sentential. The result of interview reveals that the purpose of the students switched and mixed their style is for ease expression, for translation of the new, unfamiliar words and phrases, repetitive function and the last is socializing function. These findings suggest that using code switching and code mixing during learning process brings positive effect for the student performances.
This research aims to know (1) the business type of people in Torokeku Village, Bajo Regency of South Wawoni Island (2) the available facilities and infrastructure in Torokeku village (3) strategies that can be done to develop household-based businesses in Torokeku village. This research used qualitative descriptive method. Subject of the research were the indigenous people of Torokeku, Bajo regency. Data collection techniques employed three techniques namely observation, interviews and documentation. The data were analyzed using Descriptive and SWOT analysis. The study found that (1) the type of business that were run by the inhabitants of Torokeku were dominated by seafood such as dried seaweed business, the selling dry and wet sea cucumber and fish fresh coral. In addition they also establish some household business such as making cake and drinks as well as grocery sales. Seen in terms of its economic, the dried sea cucumber bring more values rather than the dried seaweed; (2) several facilities and infrastructures have not met the requirements to support the household business run by the indigenous of Torokeku, in Bajo district. For example there is no any production space for processing of seafood. The selling products were only sold to regular buyer and the toilets have not been fulfilled (3) strategies that can be done to develop a household business is by promoting the Bajo neighborhood as a central processing of seaweed and sea cucumber to the public, arrange the environment and create a kiosk or sellers as well as seafood processing in order to be a sales center by traditional Tribal villages of origin Torokeku Bajo.
