Implementation of I-PASS has been associated with substantial improvements in patient safety and can be applied to a variety of disciplines and types of patient handoffs. Widespread implementation of I-PASS has the potential to substantially improve patient safety in the United States and beyond.

A utilização das técnicas de cirurgia reconstrutiva está cada vez mais frequente na medicina veterinária para a reconstrução tecidual de feridas, sejam estas por traumatismos ou por exéreses tumorais, melhorando a funcionalidade e mantendo uma estética agradável. A escolha da técnica a ser empregada, depende da localização da ferida, tamanho, linhas de tensão, disponibilidade de pele e experiência do cirurgião quanto à técnica a ser utilizada. Esses procedimentos requerem do cirurgião amplo conhecimento anatômico vascular, para que se alcance o sucesso da técnica cirúrgica, evitando-se possíveis complicações pós-operatórias. O presente trabalho objetiva, avaliar a utilização do retalho de padrão subdérmico inguinal bilateral e da tela de polipropileno após ressecção de neoplasma mamário em gata, SRD, 15 anos, castrada e com histórico de recidiva tumoral. Como complicações pós-operatórias, houve apenas a formação de pequena quantidade de líquido inflamatório. Contudo, a técnica aplicada obteve um resultado positivo no reparo de um extenso defeito cutâneo criado cirurgicamente.
