An unstressed single physical-chemical phase of any resin is characteristically without structure under a light microscope of even the highest resolving power.Generally, only polyphased resin systems manifest light-microscopical structure.
Ten earth minerals and a number of materials of industrial origin have been identified in the airborne dusts collected on an electrostatic precipitator in a model card room processing cotton. The major mineral components were kaolinite, a mineral derived from fine clayey soils, and limonite (hydrated ferric oxide). Quartz, K-feldspar, and muscovite were present in much smaller amounts. The other five soil-related minerals identified occurred only rarely. Among the materials of industrial origin were rust particles, paint flakes, calcite, steel, brass, and aggregates derived from furnace products. Potassium chloride has also been identified in water extracts of cotton trash.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
