This study aimed to understand the coexistence and intergenerational relationships between elementary school children and the elderly and to identify possible school practices focused on the theme, from the students' perspective. This was a qualitative study, which involved the participation of 20 elementary school children from a public school in the interior of the state of São Paulo. The children were divided into two age groups: 7 years and 11 years. For data collection we used a Semi-Structured Questionnaire that addressed the opinions of children on Aging and Elderly and also on the approach of the subject in school. Results on intergenerational relationships suggest that coexistence between children and the elderly becomes less frequent over time. Also, it was found that the students of both groups have doubts about old age and indicate that the topic is poorly addressed in school. Based on the results, it is discussed about intergenerational relationships and the need to implement gerontological education actions in the school context is highlighted, consid...
