RESUMO ABSTRACT Objective:To identify risk factors, sun exposure habits, photoprotection and skin changes in community health workers and to combat endemic operating in the municipality of Mateus Leme, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Methods: It is a cross-sectional study, whose subjects were 56 community health workers and to combat endemic operating in the municipality of Mateus Leme. Results: The results showed that 92% of professionals are more than six hours exposed to the sun; 100% of them received sunscreen, but 5% of those not used; 52% used only one method of photoprotection. Conclusion: It was identified the need for a comprehensive policy by the relevant municipal bodies in order to minimize the risks generated by this activity, as well as the Ministry of Labor, for regulation and supervision of photoprotection measures offered by employers. RESUMENObjetivo: Identificar los factores de riesgo, los hábitos de exposición al sol, la fotoprotección de la piel y los cambios en la piel de los trabajadores comunitarios de salud y combatir operativo endémica en el municipio de Mateus Leme, Minas Gerais, Brasil. Métodos: Se trata de un estudio transversal, cuyos temas eran 56 trabajadores comunitarios de la salud y de lucha contra la endémica que opera en el municipio de Mateus Leme. Resultados: Los resultados mostraron que 92% de los profesionales son más de seis horas expuestas al sol; 100% de ellos recibió protector solar, pero un 5% de éstos no utilizó; 52% utiliza solamente un método de fotoprotección. Conclusiones: Se identificó la necesidad de una política integral por los órganos municipales competentes con el fin de minimizar los riesgos generados por esta actividad, así como el Ministerio de Trabajo, para la regulación y vigilancia de las medidas de fotoprotección ofrecidos por los empleadores.
