RESUMO: Atualmente, é bem crescente a discussão sobre proteção e conservação do patrimônio histórico e cultural da humanidade. Em função das necessidades humanas, as cidades vêm sofrendo com as diversas transformações e modernizações ao longo dos anos, e o aumento dessas ocupações espaciais e territoriais da arquitetura contemporânea tem acarretado grande destruição no que diz respeito aos acervos mais antigos. Isso ocorre pelo fato de a maior parte dessas obras não serem reconhecidas ou mesmo pela falta de políticas públicas para sua proteção e/ou conservação. A documentação dessas obras tem sido uma ferramenta fundamental como elemento de informação de modo a torná-las reconhecidas. O ponto de partida deste trabalho foi baseado conforme estudos para atividades acadêmicas, na área de História da Arquitetura, percebendo a falta de materiais documentados sobre o acervo arquitetônico da cidade de Cajazeiras- PB. Diante dessa ausência de informações acerca dos bens históricos da localidade, este projeto teve por objetivo documentar três edificações religiosas pertencentes ao patrimônio histórico do município. A metodologia aplicada deu-se por meio de uma sistematização de fichas, onde foram gerados conhecimentos de caráter descritivo e explicativo que facilitaram a análise qualitativa e quantitativa do tema. Os instrumentos aplicados foram a construção de novos modelos de fichas, dividida em três módulos: Identificação, Avaliação e Registro, os quais permitiram registrá-las abordando sua história e características de modo geral, mostrando também o seu estado de conservação em sua configuração atual. Após a coleta de todas as informações, foi gerado um novo acervo fundamentado e conciso, possibilitando a propagação dessas informações de forma a dar visibilidade na produção desse conteúdo, permitindo diversos estudos futuros acerca desse contexto.
