)TiO3 (a+b=1) ( NTPB[100 x-100 a/100 b]), as a new group of piezoelectric ceramics, are studied. NTPB[0-100 a/100 b] (BINT) is a mixture of a bismuth layered structure consisting of Bi4Ti3O12, NiO and Bi2O3. When x is increased, the crystal structure changes from a mixture of bismuth layered and perovskite structures to a single phase of the perovskite structure at about x=0.2, being independent of the ratio of PbTiO3 (PT) to BaTiO3 (BT). The electromechanical coupling factors k

t and k
P of NTPB[40-100/0]+Mn(0.02 wt%) are about 51%, 47% and 32%, respectively. The mechanical bending strength of NTPB[44.5-100/0]+Mn(0.02 wt%) is about 150 MPa.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
