Based on the results, the prevalence of herpesviruses and the qualitative bacterial profiles was higher in children with leukaemia and HCMV, HHV-7 and HHV-8 were related to the use of chemotherapy. Moreover, HHV-6 was correlated with an increased bacterial community profile in patients with leukaemia (p<0.05). More attention should be paid to the oral health of these individuals, mainly those under chemotherapy, in order to prevent infections by opportunistic pathogens.
Palavras-chave: Traumatismo. DentesPermanentes.
The alveolysis is a pathological condition classified as partial or total dehiscence (the root exposure is partial or total and involves the marginal bone) and apical fenestration (the root exposure doesn’t involve the marginal bone). Usually occurs by vestibular and in the anterior region of the maxilla. It’s commonly associated with chronic infections provoked by dental caries and dental trauma. This study aims to report a clinical alveolysis case in a previous traumatized deciduous tooth of a 4 years old child. Clinical examination noticed aveolysis apical fenestration type associated to partial dehiscence (tooth 51) and presence of mobility. In the radiographic examination it was found thickening of the pericementary space and external root resorption. The indicated treatment was extraction of the affected tooth and the use of maintainer of space. Based on the reported case, it is concluded that early care and the control of traumatized and decayed teeth are essential for the prevention of alveolysis.

In case 1 the crown of the permanent tooth was exposed and orthodontic traction performed and in case 2, a waiting period of at least 6 months for spontaneous eruption of permanent tooth was expected. After 8 months it was necessary the orthodontic traction because the tooth had not erupted. In both cases the correct alignment of the upper incisors was achieved, the final occlusion was satisfactory and periapical radiographs revealed no pathological signs. Conclusion: The satisfactory results confirmed the advantages of these approaches, which restored the esthetics and oral function of these two young patients.
